  • Good afternoon all :)

Well, here we are, just a few days now <gulp>. We've sorted our forms out this afternoon, photocopied twice and in a folder, ready to go, along with the fee exemption forms <fingers crossed there> and the bank statements/payslips for that. Also, have in a seperate bag, our ID for going to the Co-op afterwards.

I think it's fair to say I am, quite frankly, a nervous wreck :o I went past the court this morning on my way into town and got an enormous lump in my throat and my hands went all sweaty (nice). I've just rung the court just a few minutes ago just to confirm our appointments for Monday (paranoid, me?) and the lady on the phone was really lovely, explained the procedure to me and was so kind that, to my horror, the lump appeared in my throat again and my eyes filled with tears - she could tell because she said really gently "it will be okay you know". I just sort of mumbled "I know, I'm sorry" and she said "it's okay, really". !!!!!!, what am I going to be like on Monday if this is what I'm like today?

Sounds like you're all good to go Scarlett.

You may find (as I did) that you'll get most of the worry and panic out of the way before you get there.

I'm sure you won't exactly be calm, but I found that once I was there a certain type of "serenity" came over me. Not exactly a lack of worry, but the impulse to "run and hide" vanished.:o

  • Aw Scarlett, how nice does that court clerk sound..it even had me filling up:o

Sounds like you'll be in good hands though, which is reassuring, and, as ever your well organised:D

Try and relax this weekend, theres nothing more you can do and its all out of your hands now. I wonder if thats why we all get so nervous? that, and the fear of the unknown.

  • Thanks guys :)

fermi - I do hope so. You hit the nail on the head there; I DO feel a bit like I just want to run away from it all at the moment and not 'deal with it' anymore, which is madness - this is what we've been building up to for the last few months, I just need to get on with it now and see it through to the end.

BLTN - I think that's it you know, the fear of the 'unknown' - as much as I have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen on Monday I still don't know "exactly" how it's going to go and that bothers me :o I'm a bit of a control freak (if you've noticed ;) ) and I like to know what's what.

Oh...... another think the clerk said, she said the OR would probably call me/us within 4 hours of us being declared BR, just for a quick chat..... I hope he doesn't call while I'm at school getting the kids - that could give the gossips on the playground something to talk about
