I've got an Alessi one - my excuse is that it's a design classic

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alessi-MG32-UK-Cordless-Electric-x/dp/B0009NUBXY/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1549550657&sr=8-8&keywords=alessi%2Bkettle&th=1

I also have an awesome Alessi toothpick dispenser because I decided my life wouldn't be complete without it

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alessi-Officina-Toothpick-Holder-Brown/dp/B000BGT14E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1549550824&sr=8-3&keywords=alessi+toothpick+holder

I have a multitude of relatively expensive, frivolous things because I enjoy them.

We have the Alessi kettle too - but in cream - it's about 15 years old and still going strong. Unlike the basic (B&M) one we bought earlier this year when we moved and our stuff was in storage. That broke after a few weeks :(

    Love my Alessi!

Same as our fridge freezer (a Smeg :rotfl:) - purchased in 1997 from one of those graded shops (not online back then) for a fraction of the retail price - it's never needed so much as a bulb replacement in 22 years.

Imho, you (usually) get what what you pay for and in the long run it's worth paying more - if affordable, of course.

OP, I'd do as other posters have suggested and accept KitchenAid's offer of a replacement in a different colour, sell it on and source one of the few remaining white ones still out there.

So's this at £130 cheaper. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JJV12TE/ref=twister_B07BZYGHVC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 probably me being a tightwad.

It doesn't have a cute bird sticking out of the spout though :D

My Alessi is 15 years old and still going strong so I think I've had my money's worth out of it.
It's not about how much it cost.... it's about others knowing how much it costs.

I don't leave price tags on things so I doubt anyone would know :rotfl:

All well and good but the whole point of this thread is that the expensive kettle has packed up after six months. Go figure.
  • Morning, Thanks for the further replies.

I didnt think she would have any rights with KA.

I agree it is a kettle, just like my £7 replacement from tesco currently. But it doesnt look half as pretty in my new kitchen, also it was a gift to match my kitchen aid mixer. I never would buy myself a kettle at £150 so dont worry im not mad, just sad my kettle went missing ha.

Does anyone want to by a £150 kettle in red, cream, black or grey from me? ;)

    Again thanks all.

    No, because :

    1. Buying secondhand means I am bound by the manufacturer's guarantee and its terms and conditions as

    2. I have no recourse to any retailer's obligations under CRA 2015.

    3. Kitchen Aid kettles are known to fail after a relatively short period.

    4. Kitchen Aid are known to lose kettles sent for repair
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Brilliant news, most people on here just tell you your legal rights they never allow for the goodwill of the manufacturer.
