I don't have a 60k car! but I do have a Kitchenaid mixer which, if I'm honest, I could have got a cheaper version for less which would no doubt do the same thing, but as far as I'm concerned its pretty and I love it and nothing else could possibly match it and if I keep telling myself that I am justified with my pretty mixer :P

Okay replace car with anything of your choice. Clothing, shoes, mobile phone, haircuts, food, ANYTHING.
Its the same principle.

Kitchenaid are pretty good, I recently returned a multicooker under warranty and they could not replace it as is is discontinued. I knew that I wasn't entitled to a refund as it was more than 6 months old, but I did get another kitchenaid stand mixer attachment that would have cost me £50 more had I bought it.
Is there nothing else on their website that you'd like?

Your sister has no rights with KitchenAid over what they have already offered in accordance with the terms of the manufacturer warranty. Her consumer rights are with the retailer where it was purchased.
