Hi.
** THIS HAS NOW BEEN RESOLVED AND A REFUND ISSUED **
Id appreciate your opinions/help with this matter.
I was gifted for my birthday a Kitchen Aid Kettle. It sat in the box for a long time whilst my kitchen was being done. When I finally started using it, within 6 months it stopped working. It is still under warrenty so as instructed I sent it back to Kitchen Aid.

I didnt hear anything for 2 weeks so called for an update, turns out my kettle had been logged to have been recieved but since then, they have been unable to locate my kettle. They immediately offered me a replacement. Unfortunatelty my kettle (white) is no longer available and so they could only offer me Red, Black, Grey/Silver and cream.
None of these colours will match in my new pink and white kitchen, So I asked if they would give me a refund, which was declined as the item was over 30days old. So I said could I wait whilst they opened a case to try and find the missing kettle, in the hope it could be fixed and Id have my white one back. Sadly they havnt been able to find it.

I totally appreciate they have offered me a replacement, but for the price at £150 I really dont want to settle for a kettle that wont fit in with my new kitchen. Plus, they lost my kettle.

Ive emailed back today, and now awaiting another response. Should I aceept another kettle in the wrong colour, or am I in my rights to keep pushing for a refund.

Thankyou.:)

If they don't have a colour you want then i would just get what replacement you can from them and just sell it on and get what money you can and put that money towards a new kettle that goes with your kitchen decor.

Have you looked online/instore for the colour kettle that you want?

I think kitchenaid are very good for giving you a new replacement kettle by the way.

    A) you have no rights, as you are not the original purchase
    B) you don't say where it was bought from, was it bought direct from Kitchen Aid?
  • I don't believe you can insist on a refund, plus they may not have even been able to repair your kettle, or economically so.

Surely anything but red will look okay? My kitchen is pink and cream but I have a silver/black microwave, hob and oven, and the coffee machine is black. Doesnt look jarring (in my opinion)

It’s there fault so I‘d really push for a refund. Are there any shops with a white one in stock?

The OP did not buy it so no refund due.

I would accept a different colour, sell it, then buy a white one on eBay/facebook or elsewhere.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Thanks for all your replys.

My sister was the one who purchased the kettle, from an independant shop (who informed me to take the matter up direct with kitchen aid due to the warrenty).

Do you think then my sister would have more luck? I didnt think it would make any difference.

I had looked online and could see alot were sold out due to them no longer producing them. But ill check out the link above. Thankyou so much.
  • Slight change of track but how is a kettle at £159 better than one at £25? Merely curiosity on my part.

There is no standard for 'better'

Some people have cars which cost 60k. Some have cars which cost 6k. they are both cars, and both of them drive from A-B, but in different ways, different styles, different features.

I don't have a 60k car! but I do have a Kitchenaid mixer which, if I'm honest, I could have got a cheaper version for less which would no doubt do the same thing, but as far as I'm concerned its pretty and I love it and nothing else could possibly match it and if I keep telling myself that I am justified with my pretty mixer :P

Buy a cheap white kettle from Tesco / Argos / whoever and get the above, or similar product from someone else.

They have offered you a solution, others have made suggestions, work with the cards that have been dealt to you.
