Well done on the OP. Ouch at those prices. I winced at the weekend's £1.65 mark

Yes I had to fill up yesterday too. I went to the cheapest petrol station in town and paid 164.4 per litre....£50 for 3/4 of a tank :(

Anyway our exciting news for this week is that we have paid the deposit on our new bathroom. Unfortunately we'll probably have to wait around 6 months to get it fitted because the waiting list is so long but it will get done eventually..... yippee!

I have also looked at my savings accounts and opened new accounts/moved money around to maximise how much interest I'm earning :)

I was up before the kids this morning so I've managed to do my online banking. Bills are paid, my regular savers are topped up and I've done a 'tilly tidy' from my current account to my savings account. I also had a £6 payout from vinted so that has been overpaid to the mortgage :)

Schools here have broken up for the Easter holidays so I'm now on annual leave for a week. Not got anything planned really apart from some Easter crafts and baking but I think we could all do with some chill out time as we are all shattered!

We've had a productive start to the holidays. We've managed a tip run to get rid of 3 bags of clothes recycling and a broken chair. I have also sorted out Dd's clothes drawers to see what summer clothes she needs. At the moment we just need tshirts but from looking online at TU and George I'm not inspired so she may just have to wear dresses all the time instead! I did list 3 items on Vinted that she had outgrown and 2 have already sold and been posted  :)

DH also looked at his car insurance renewal and by changing companies he's saved £80 so well done to DH!

So after doing the boring grown up stuff this weekend it's time to have fun with the kids this week  :)

I had a nice week off and hopefully the kids did too. We've done trips the the park, a quick ice cream on the beach and two trips to soft play. I think I need to go back to work for a rest now

I've been paid for the 2 items which I sold on Vinted so that's another £3 paid off the mortgage :) I also dropped two bags of clothes off at the charity shop so a bit of decluttering has been achieved this week. DD has a birthday party today but apart from that we are just taking it easy and hopefully making progress on the washing pile   :D

Well done on the decluttering. Good luck with the party. Hope you have a reward for yourself later

Sorry for being missing in action. Things have been plodding along here. It was DS birthday so we did a party for him (his first since starting school as covid put a stop to a party in reception and Y1) and took him for a special day out. DHs car also needed £500 worth of work doing on it so between that and party spends our current account is looking pretty bleak. DH is itching to get a new car but we can't really afford it so we're just hoping it can get through another year without anymore repairs.

I'm feeling very pleased that I fixed my gas and electric for 2 years seeing as there will be another big jump in the cap in October. It was pure luck though so just grateful I trusted my instincts and fixed.

Tomorrow is payday and as we need to pay the balance on our holiday, pay for car insurance and celebrate two birthdays I am going to have to keep a close eye on our outgoings, especially on food....so spreadsheet at the ready 😁 I think days out will all have to be trips to national trusts properties with picnics to keep costs down so let's hope the weather is good in June!
