I find tools and furniture sell well. I'm especially happy when I sell Ex's stuff that he left behind and I get £ in for that. It brings an extra smile to my face... It's particularly funny though when I take photos of things and have to ask someone what they even areAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Well it's officially autumn as our heating has kicked in this morning. It's been rather cold in the house in the evening so I can't say I'm too upset the heating has come on. DS was complaining it was cold too and he hardly ever complains about the cold!
I've made a £110 overpayment to the mortgage. £100 was because it was payday and the other £10 was from vinted sales. I listed some more items over the weekend when I was updating DDs drawers with her 4-5 clothes for winter and 3 items have sold which is great.
I did manage to do some decluttering when I had my week off but I was hampered by the fact that I filled the black bin. DH also did a tip run for mestill lots more to do but every little helps!

Well done on the decluttering, OP and vinted sales. Ouch to the heating coming on. I've been using an elec blanket more... but am dreading turning the heating on.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I hope you're still resisting putting the heating on Savingholme. Ours only came on for a grand total of 8 minutes yesterdayI've made another overpayment of £200 today as DH has been paid. We need to sit down and check through our budget this weekend and decide how much we now plan to save and overpay each month. The continual talking of rising interest rates in the press has me wanting to overpay the mortgage but at the same time we need to save for a new car.
Only other news is two more sales on vinted!Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30002 -
I think cashflow is king - and some of the savings interest rates are better than mortgage rates...
I succumbed to the heating 2 hours on the day I got back from a holiday cottage where it had been heated to a barmy 18-21 degrees all week. It was a shock to the system coming home. And an hour and a half yesterday. That only took it briefly to 17/18. It seems to have helped though as currently my lounge is 16 degrees... DD has a cold - and despite having an electric blanket was complaining she was cold so wanted to give her a boost.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yay we've made it to half term. DD and DS have had a really good first half term so really proud of them. DD has been really tired for the past week or two so she's definitely in need of half term. DH is off with them this time so they'll mainly be chilling out at home.
We visited a pumpkin patch yesterday so the plan for today is pumpkin carving, baking pumpkin cupcakes and tidying.
I've been selling a couple of items each week on Vinted. I've used this months earnings on a 'new' Christmas top for DS and more mailing bags for sending more items out.
I'm not sure if we'll make an overpayment in November or not as our new bathroom is being fitted and we'll have to make a payment of £2000 for extra fitting work. I'm really excited about having the new bathroom so trying not to think too much about the costMortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30001 -
New bathrooms sounds lovely as does pumpkin carving.

Gosh I can't believe it's half way through November already. This month has already been very expensive as between the car and our cat we've spent £1000 we weren't expecting to pay out. I did make an overpayment of £100 after payday but i'm very glad I didn't overpay more now after our unexpected bills. I'm expecting a Quidc0 and Vinted payout so I may have another small overpayment to make later in the month when they come through.
I've not started doing any Christmas shopping yet. I was going to start after the bathroom had been put in but it's been delayed and we're not sure exactly when it's going to go ahead now as communication hasn't been greatI'm hoping to get a Tesco Christmas delivery slot later this morning... although given the price of turkey I'm not sure I'll be putting one in my trolley this year! I prefer chicken anyway
