Thanks Twinklie. It must be hard having to take the kids to different schools in different directions. I think I'll be much happier when we know where DS is going for secondary as then at least we'll be able to plan. At the moment we just feel in limbo.

I took the kids to spend some of their Christmas money today. I remembered to take a carrier bag and I resisted the urge to buy myself a book, so win win today  :)

I have been taking stock of our savings this morning. The last time I reviewed them was the end of May last year...eek! As our savings seem to be languishing in low interest paying accounts I have opened a new regular saver this morning and paid this month's allowance into it. I have also topped up my other regular saver (I forgot to top it up in December...DOH!). After the review DH and I have decided to build up our savings more this year. We currently save just over £600 per month but this is earmarked for buying DHs car later this year and our holiday fund. The next thing we want to save for is new windows for the house. Not sure we'll manage to get them this year but I would definitely like them in next year.

I have also overpaid £325 on the mortgage today. I also have two items to post that I have sold on vinted... although I may have brought two things too  :D at least it's one in one out!

Oops I forgot to say that in 2025 we overpaid £3766.50 off the mortgage and in 2025 the mortgage dropped below £100,000 which was a great milestone to make.

I want to aim for £4000 this year which should hopefully be doable :)
