I've made a £7 mortgage overpayment today thanks to a Quidc0 pay out. That brings my total overpayments to £36 this year. Slow and steady wins the race I guess...I'm just hanging on to the thought of not having to pay nursery fees from September
I posted two items that I sold on Vinted yesterday. They were only small sales (£1) each but at least that's two more items out the house. I'm also hopefully having someone pick up a bundle of clothes that I listed on Faceb00k but I'm getting a bit fed up of listing things on Faceb00k as people keep saying they'll collect and then never turn up. Ok with Vinted I have to make the effort of going out to post it but at least you aren't messed around.Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30002 -

I have some very exciting news....our mortgage is now in the 120,000s
No overpayments to report but I have sold a couple of bits on Faceb00k and Vinted. I have since spent my earnings on buying clothes off Vinted, so easy come easy go
I've started buying in school uniform for September as DD is starting school so I'll have two to kit out! I wasn't planning on starting buying so early but DS has destroyed his jumpers and it's school photo time so he needs to look smart. I had a m&s gift voucher so that went towards it
In other exciting news DH and I are going out for a date for the first time in 3 years! I can't wait to have a meal out without wrangling two little ones and having interruptions asking me to take them to the toilet. Actually we went out for a meal last weekend and they were very well behaved so I shouldn't complain too much!Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30002 -

I'm not sure where all our money has gone but for the first time in years I'm counting down the days until pay day as our current account is looking kind of bare. Pay day isn't until next week either! We have enough to fill the car with petrol and do our weekly shop but that's it.
Anyway i know we are extremely lucky and other families must be really struggling at the moment. I am counting down the days until DD finishes nursery as that is going to free up a whole lot of money. We will even be able to start making some overpayments againI'm having to take a weeks unpaid leave in September to try and manage DD part time staggered start to reception so it will be November by the time we really notice being free of nursery fees!
I did make a tiny overpayment of £8 today as I withdrew some some Cashback from Quidc0.Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000 -
Well done on the OP.
It will make a huge difference when you're no longer paying nursery. I remember those staggered starts with my now grown up kids - a long time ago for me now...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yay it's payday! What's even more exciting is that I've made a £100 overpayment to celebrate paying our last ever nursery bill. Tomorrow we're off on a back to school shoe shopping trip so I'll probably feel a lot poorer after that but for now I'm feeling happy!Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30001

We had a successful shoe shopping trip so both kids are now all kitted out ready for school
DS goes back tomorrow and DD starts in just over a week. I'm hoping DD manages to get through the school day ok as she keeps asking for naps at nursery! I have warned her that she won't be able to have a nap at school and she wasn't impressed
I had another payout from Quidc0 so I have made another £29 overpayment to the mortgage. That brings our total overpayments to £173 this year. I am hoping that from November we'll be able to start making regular overpayments of £250 so that we can knock the 5 years off our mortgage term which is our long term aim.
As today is the first of the month I have topped up our regular savers. One now has a rubbish rate but matures in just over a month so just topped up the minimum in that one, whilst the other is now 3% so that one gets moreMortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30001
