Tell him that his gift is seeing how happy you are with your new handbag 🤣
Yes I'll try that one and see how far I get  :D I've just checked my bank account and I have £17 left so I'll be able to get him something... probably lots of chocolate  :)

I've just topped up my regular savings accounts and made an overpayment to the mortgage of £256. From now on we're going to have to overpay by £250 a month to make our target of repaying the mortgage 5 years early. That should be easier from September when DD qualifies for her 30hr free nursery care. That reminds me that I better apply for that before I forget! Off to do some research now as it's a long time since we qualified with DS.

After 3years of debating buying a new sofa we have finally ordered two :) our current sofa has definitely seen better days but we had been putting it off until both children were potty trained. Fingers crossed DD is finally being more consistent so we've bitten the bullet and pressed the order button. They won't arrive for 13 weeks which gives us time to declutter the living room to make room for them. One of the main reasons we went for it was that we were fed up of having to sit on the floor now the kids take up more space  :D anyway that's not very money saving but definitely necessary. Actually our TV stand and dining table and chairs all need replacing too but we'll do one step at a time.

The only money saving thing I've done over the last couple of weeks is listing some items on Faceb00k. Only one listing has sold so only £4 made, but to be honest I'm just glad to get some stuff out the house. I might look into whether the local charities are taking donations and drop some stuff off with them too.

DS is really struggling at school now. He's even tried to escape and come home (luckily he was spotted). Meeting next week with the school...I just hope we can try and get to the bottom of things  :'(

This is turning out to be a very expensive month. Not only have we brought sofas we have also had to buy DD a new bed as her cotbed broke during the week  :'( I had been debating when the right time to move her into a single bed anyway but fate has intervened. I've been busy tidying in her room today as we'll need to move the furniture around to fit a single in. Her bedroom also doubles as DHs office which makes it slight more challenging as he doesn't want a bed in the background whilst on video calls  :D
