We switched to the 2 year fix MSE collective mid February and have it confirmed after an initial issue with setting it up. Just checked online and states the correct tariff.

However just had a letter in the post from eon "We're increasing your prices" Our tariff is subject to the government price cap etc. etc.

How can this be? Pretty sure I know the definition of "fixed" so I am assuming eon do not? Yet another !!!! up?

Hello Spooky_uk and glad you're on the MSE Collective tariff.

Please ignore the letter about the Price Cap. This doesn't apply now you're on the fixed collective deal.

You mention having an initial issue. I suspect you temporarily defaulted to our standard Energy Plan whilst the issue was sorted. This will have automatically led to the letter being sent. Once you were on the MSE Collective, the start date will have been backdated to when you signed up so you're not affect by the Energy Plan prices.

    Hope this explains Spooky_uk.

The initial issue was being sent a confirmation letter for the new tariff with a different name and account number than our own. There was a data protection breach in relation to that. Not aware we were defaulted to the standard energy plan and have been on it since the 11th February. The date on the letter is a month after we started on the new tariff.

I'm another not very happy at the moment with the eon Mar Feb 19 switch. Signed up and have confirmed I have been switched. However I only signed up as it was portable and I double checked it was first as I knew we were moving house imminently.
I have now moved and contacted eon to port my tariff and apparently it isn't portable after all :mad::mad:
Eon have said there is nothing they can do so I've lost my fab prices :(

Hello clairet707 and hope the move went well.

I'm sorry you weren't able to take the E.ON MSE Collective tariff with you. This is only possible under certain circumstances. Mainly, remaining in the same electricity region; similar metering; moving to a property we supply or are in the process of taking over; and staying as dual fuel or electricity only.

This type of transfer also needs to go through a specific online route looked after by our specialist Home Moves team.

Sorry again we weren't able to do this for you clairet707.

Ah! I see Spooky_uk. Thank you for the additional information.

The default to Energy Plan would've happened behind the scenes and wouldn't have been there for long. It would've been wiped out once the MSE Collective was uploaded and backdated so there was no effect on your account or charges. Just long enough to trigger the letter.

Thanks again for coming back to me Spooky_uk.

Thanks Malc, it is the same metering region, similar meters (though new house has UW meters in) and I am staying dual fuel. I have moved 10 miles from one side of Hull to the other. Is there still a chance I may be able to port if I spoke to the specialist team again? I dont really want to stay on the MSE tarrif at old house as i wont be using much gas / electric at all so it defeats the object of having such a good rate :(

Hello clairet707 and I'd suggest talking to our specialist Home Moves team (contact details are on our website).

You would need to close the account at your current property and ask the Home Moves team to take over the supply at your new home. At this time, talk to them about porting the MSE Collective tariff between residences.

Hope this points you in the right direction clairet707.
