  • CASHBACK
If you move to a supplier that we can switch you to, £12.50 cashback is paid for a single fuel switch, £25 if you switch both fuels. Cashback is paid in to your bank account around three months after switching, but it can sometimes take longer if your supplier is slow to confirm this to us. It will appear as "EnergyClubCashbk".

If it's been over six months since your switch, let us know by emailing energyclub@moneysavingexpert.com and we'll follow this up for you.

Sometimes there are special deals where you can get even more cashback. Usually with these deals, the supplier sends you the extra cashback and you'll still get the £25 from us.

That's great. Thank you for your reply. I just wanted to make sure that I didn't have to agree to have smart meters fitted before I signed up!

the Eon 2-year fixed deal states a daily standing charge component of both Gas and Electric, at 8.4p/day ! - this is massively lower than anything else (typically around 24p/day), and especially fixed for TWO years, is this CORRECT and contractural ?

    Welcome to MSE :hello:

Let's hope they are correct, else MSE would be misleading millions of readers with this offer
(although it does say 10.395p for the Eastern supply region)

You will be provided confirmation of the tariff when you apply. If it's not what you were expecting, you can take advantage of the 14 day cooling off period.

Hello Steuart Neale and welcome to the Forums.

Yes, the Daily Standing Charge quoted by MSE is correct. The lower daily rates are where accounts are paid by Direct Debit.

We reviewed the structure of our tariffs last year and made changes to the way we apply adjustments and discounts. Customers paying in ways other than a Direct Debit will pay a higher Daily Standing Charge similar to the figure you mention.

If you opt for this tariff, we guarantee the Daily Standing Charge and unit rates won't change for the duration of the contract unless the method of payment is changed. Where customers come off payment by Direct Debit, the Daily Standing Charge will go to the higher amount.

    Hope this explains.

Hello wavelets and 10.395p per day for the Eastern region is right. This includes VAT and, as above, is for customers paying with a Direct Debit. Accounts paid by means other than Direct Debit will see a higher Daily Standing Charge.

Rates do vary depending on the region.

    Hope this explains.

With my BG fix coming to an end on 31 March, and having had months of absolutely rubbish service (non-reporting electricity smart meter) I am very tempted by this MSE Eon deal. But ….

As above, the electricity smart meter supplied by BG (Landis+Gyr E470)has failed to report readings since November 2018. After a lot of too'ing and fro'ing they've finally agreed to replace it. That'll not be until 04 March so I'm a bit concerned about starting a switch before then, which I'd obviously have to do to get this deal as it ends on 22 Feb.

Does anyone know if starting the switch might give BG reason to cancel the meter swap?

Also, in view of the posts above, any idea of the standing charges that'd apply in the NE area (TS12 postcode)?

    Thanks in advance.

    Classic pressure sales technique.

Selling fast, last one left, don't miss out, BUY NOW!

The Fischer Energy lot (those who sell OFTM & Economy Seven) love the countdowns on theiir websites too.
    Q. Has anyone on those sites ever been refused a sign-up because they have already met their signup target for the day?
    Nope, thought not.

The good ol' classic sales methods are always the best.
Another £300,000 into the MSE till :money:

Today there are still 9000 switches left on this tariff according to the CEC ...

    Hello poundsNpence.

The Daily Standing Charges for the E.ON Fix 2 Year MSE Collective Feb 2019 tariff for the TS12 area (Electricity Region 15) area as follows.

Single Rate Electricity with payment by Direct Debit - 5.00p per day.

Single Rate Electricity with payment by other means - 16.75p per day.

Economy 7 Electricity with payment by Direct Debit - 5.00p per day.

Economy 7 Electricity with payment by other means - 16.75p per day.

Gas with payment by Direct Debit - 5.00p per day.

Gas with payment by other means - 16.75p per day.

These prices are for credit meters and include VAT.

I can't speak for BG but if the situation were reversed and you were leaving us, once the new supplier applied to takeover we would lock down the account. Metering appointments would then be automatically cancelled.

Hope this explains poundsNpence. Let me know if you need any more details as happy to help.
