Are you going by what is on the bill or have you had notification over the DD?
Symbio always send an email what the DD will be before they take it, they have to do if it will be a different amount than previously. When I got an email stating a refund, they included the revised bill stating the revised amount would be due by 24 Jan.
I received the refund and have not had notification that they are taking another DD. You may want to clarify with them if simply going on a revised bill.
I paid the original bill in full by dd when it was due. Then on Friday they said they have sent a revised bill which was half the original one. They then went on to say this would be collected on the 24 January and would I be willing to reinstate the dd.
However I never cancelled the dd in the first place and even though the revised bill was half the original amount there is no mention of a refund. Also to date no confirmation a further payment will be taken.0 -

Unless GoCardless notifies you by email of the exact amount and date, the DD should not be taken. Sounds like Symbio CS are copying and pasting text again to save time.0 -
Hi there...…new member here
I got the vastly inflated jan bill and contacted Symbio and I'm still waiting for reply after a week....whats the best way to contact them regarding partial refund of jan payment0 -
Would love to leave them but nothing cheaper for my area.....Green are £40-50 more expensive and Symbio website is so clunky and slow0

Green. Energy have posted the following on Facebook in answer to a question about the ofgem dcc ruling which affects green and 8 other companies including symbio. Its very reassuring and a damn site more professional than any statements coming from symbio since this overestimating fiasco.
"we appreciate your concerns - the media have greatly misreported this issue. To set the record straight, we are 95% of the way towards being smart accredited and have our final audit starting on Monday morning. We will be a DCC user well in advance of any deadline set by Ofgem, and would have been even without their actions.
We have been going for 6 months now, and it typically takes suppliers 6 months to become a DCC user so we are well within the timescales. Other suppliers named by the press have been going for significantly longer (years) and we have been caught in the same net."0 -

I like the price and the incompetence is amusing, so I'm staying put.0 -

Meanwhile, I'm 95% of the way towards being pregant, and I'm male!
But you believe what you want.
According to Ofgem, the energy regulator (not the general media)Standard licence conditions 42.8 of the gas supply licence and 48.8 of the electricity supply licence require licensees to become DCC Users by 25 November 2017. As highlighted in the Authority’s open letter from December 2017, those suppliers who entered the market following the 25 November 2017, should not exit Controlled Market Entry without being a DCC user.
The particular behaviour of concern giving rise to the proposal to make a Final Order is that Green Energy Supply failed to become a DCC User by the deadline and remains non-compliant.0 -
But green did not exist in November 2017!!! Neither did symbio.0
-
But as they clearly state it takes approximately 6 months to become dcc compliant and the matter is in hand.
The whole smart meter rollout is a shambles anyway so it's of little relevance but as you say it is a rule and they are addressing the non compliance. It's more concerning that symbio cannot produce accurate bills which are quite difficult to comprehend to me
That is also a breach of ofgem rules.
I pointed this reply out as it impressed me more than any communication. from symbio. Their replies tend to be cut n paste irrelevant nonsense0
