Symbio read this thread. Well they told me back in May they did anyway but will not comment on it0

Well have received an adjusted bill, but look at this explanation as to why they got it wrong!!
" Based upon your submitted read in December 2019, we found that your day consumption was higher than forecasted but your day was lower which has balanced out the estimated period last month."
They overcharged me in December and for this month it's still high. We shall what the end of the month brings. Will defo be keeping an eye on their bills!!!!!0 -

Got the same email my £95 bill has been adjusted to £65 with the £30 refund payable within 14 days0 -

My recalculated bill came with a email with the exactly the same wording, which made little sense, since my day compution rate was actually lower than my EAC. However I had guessed it was probably a generic cut-paste job, since it hadn't address many of the issues raised in my complaint.
It will be interesting to see if the predicted future usage reduces below EAC/12 in the spring. A previous skumbag supplier also decided to put prices up in winter and then the month they would have had to reduce them, they decided to revert to the EAC/12, so effectively increasing their credit. I hope that is not what is occurring.0 -
I see, once again, Symbio have been spending lots of time on social media and review sites.
Probably explains why they are still too busy to resolve to my complaint lodged directly with them 2 weeks ago
e.g. This from earlier today
I don't think any of Symbio's competitors would be wasting their time, posting fabricated comments on the internet purely with the intention of attempting to damage Symbio's brand.
I would suggest no one can beat the damage Symbio are doing to their own brand.0 -
Oddly I managed to changed to a fixed DD, which they took on 15th, they still have not revised the overestimated bill. Wondering how they will reconcile this on February Bill.0

Using their usual mathematical wizardry!! Best double check it.
I also agree this fiasco is entirely of their own doing. They're just confirming how useless they are. However, I don't buy the "building a cash pile" myth as all the overpayments will get reconciled out in February's bills.0 -
In my case, they'd have a reasonably healthy credit sitting there which would dissipate over the winter if they'd just taken the DD based on EAC/12 but, because of the faffing around and them reducing the DD amount in Sept & Oct, my account is now in debit and will still be till around June.
I'll make sure that it will balance out come the end of August when my contract finishes but they'll be in debit for longer than they would otherwise have been if they'd have left it alone because I'm not going to pay their silly inflated guesstimates.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
However, I don't buy the "building a cash pile" myth as all the overpayments will get reconciled out in February's bills.
In my case the overpayment is only about £40 anyway, which is nothing in comparison to the credit balances I've had to build up in the past with other suppliers.
So all things considered, yes the "winter schedule" debacle could have been handled better, but I'm now perfectly happy to stay put - still the cheapest leccy around.0 -
Amazingly, Symbio have sent me a revised bill this afternoon for January.
I say a revised bill, but as you may recall, I never received the original bill for January, but perhaps I will let that go?
They have revised my estimated usage for January down from 189% of EAC/12 to 127.5% of EAC/12, citing the previous error being down to "a problem with the estimated advance period"
Now that's odd, because the Bill Summary of the earlier bill they produced indicates it covered the period, 01-01-2020 - 31-01-2020, so what do you guys think the period is this latest bill covers?
Remember, this is the company that said last weekThe company is not in any sort of trouble and most of our customers are happy with the service they are being provided.
- or in this particular case 127.5% of something is far better than 189% of nothing
Anyway, as this latest bill is only a few quid more than expected, and that should be reconciled in the next bill due in a little more than 2 weeks time, I will allow it on this occassion.
I will await with interest to see what February's bill brings, and despite allowing this bill on this occassion, will not be giving up on my complaint against them. They need to provide some answers, and coherent ones at that!
Complaint now being escalated to Stage 2 of their complaint procedure.0
