Just checked my usage graphs and January is nearly double that of December. This is totally unacceptable as my usage is nearly constant from one month to another.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0

Honest john I bet its 189% of your December usage just like the rest of us
Switch n Ditch I say. No excuse for such a hideous overcharge in January a month in which most folk are recovering from the expense of Christmas
Yes you'll get it back by way of variance charges (a symbio invention) but if your like me you require accurate bills from your supplier0 -

If you believe what they say we the customer are at fault by not giving the meter reading on the very last day of the month. I apparently was in the wrong by giving mine one day before.0 -

As a result I reckon I am about £45 down on a cashflow basis. That's not a vast amount in the great scheme of things (Powershop anyone?), and I know it will right itself at the next bill, unless the estimating error is repeated for February.
Also for some reason I am only being billed at 95% of the rates quoted when I first signed up, saving an extra £35-£40 over the year. For that reason I'm crossing fingers and staying put.0 -
anyone else had the snotty email reply from Symbio about why they amend the DD as the initial amount per month is a guestimate?
I use around 8.78kwh per day and would expect to use around 272 for January 2020. They say I will use 500kwh, not sure why as they also said I used 300kwhs in December 2019 when they had actual readings and I used 246kwh a 20% discrepancy!!
Am composing a reply but from previous comments, I think all us customers are to blame for being meticulous in recording our usage and actually knowing what we would use.
They also said that some customers gave deliberate lower readings and somehow avoid payment. As they charge up front, that must be easy to correct!!0 -

I put my readings in on 31/12 and then put a new reading on 01/01.
I had only used 5 kwh for 01/01 as i was away New Years eve night got home late New Years day and when i got my bill Symbio had estimated that i will use 28 or 29kwh for 1 day.
My January estimated bill was for just under 500 kwh and i have counted up what i have used since being with them and what they have billed me and if i use 275 kwh this month Symbio will have had £72 more from me from what i have used. Yes i do give readings, about 1 a week and on the 1st and last day of the month, but maybe that is too musch for them.
At this rate when summer comes Symbio will be paying me £35-£40 pm instead of me paying them but then again they may have bust by then.0 -

Not had the snotty email myself. I don't Condone giving false readings myself but I can kind of understand why some people may. I give regular readings on the last day of the month0
