I dread to think what my estimated gas usage would have been for January according to symbio. No thanks

My monthly DD should be £75, based on an EAC of £902. However they've taken £161 in January. That's 214%!

As others have said, as long as it's put right in February, I'm happy with the cheap electricity.

After reading about todays ofgem orders I immediately contacted Green. Via chat.

    This was their response

"Hi, this is a bureaucratic issue, we supply our application to them and it wasnt processed within time so we need to re-apply for this"

Impressed with swiftness of reply. The chat also addressed other issues and wasn't a symbio style bot reply

    My transfer to green. Continues

I have just received a call from Nancy at Symbio, Very apologetic and professional. She has sorted out everything to my own satisfaction.
I informed her about the mysterious 1.89 factor for bill manipulation and she was utterly unaware of it(!)
Sam Budhdeo did indeed resign in June last year. However, he is expected to return in a more senior position shortly.
The DCC issue is in hand and they anticipate it being resolved by the end of Q1 2020. It concerns offering a smart-meter facility to all customers.
Symbio are in the progress of starting gas supply and hope to offer this in Q2 2020.

Good news regarding Sam. He is one of the good guys in Symbio. Not sure I would trust them to handle my gas supply. They get confused enough with just one utility.

Indeed, it's a double-edged sword! I'd be tempted if their pricing was good - as I'm heading for 40,000kWhr per year. And if the free units algorithm applied to gas too, that would be a bonus.

My gas is currently with Zog, but I'm thinking about jumping ship to Gulf at 2.5p/kWhr. However, is the empty Gulf feedback thread a good sign or an indication that nobody's used them because they don't appear on so many of the comparison sites?

If I have to jump ship from zog ("I'm hoping I won't) I've seen a relatively cheap duel fuel from Yorkshire energy. Green Yorkshire fixed until September 2021. Of course by April when my zog contract ends that would be irrelevant. I'm disappointed zogs prices haven't reappeared at or near top of table like they usually do. Was hoping they would launch electricity soon. They've been promising it fur around 4 years. One thing I'm certain of I won't be using symbio for gas

I have had no replies to customer service emails, billing emails come back as an error and had no replies from telephone voice messages for callback. No online chat either :( Also no meter readings on my bills

I had a message from them on Facebook asking me to send my account number and someone would contact me. I didn't bother. I'm leaving. I will wait until final bill is ready (I'll work out what they owe me myself). Then I'll contact them and request payback. If it doesn't come in the ofgem required timescale (10 days after production of bill) I will be entitled to £30 compensation

I emailed on Monday morning with my list of complaints. They failed to respond to their 72-96 hour advised timeframe so I contacted them yesterday via Facebook. I received a generic reply advising the bills are 'in line with winter consumption'. I replied that they clearly didn't read my email and I have subsequently received no further reply. Our DD was due out today but (rightly or wrongly) I cancelled it on Monday.
