Symbio Energy feedback

I’ve had an answer from both ombudsman and Symbio now.
they say they won’t revise below 250 units and that’s Ofgem reGulations (shame they didn’t just say that in July).
the ombudsman says it’s up
to new supplier (in this case pfp) to pick up the new “transfer” reading when it’s below 250 difference.
I don’t have a final bill from pfp but my account says I owe them a small amount.
At least I can forget about Symbio now - hoorah
I'm a little surprised the ombudsman said that as they previously ruled in my favour over a dispute with Iresa when they stopped trading. My final bill was only 14 units out and they awarded me a decent chunk of compensation

They have said the administrators might be able to help but below 250
”I would not expect them (Symbio) to make changes”.
but I won’t pay new supplier until beyond the transfer reading0 -
Anyone else who was with Symbio had a bill from Eon Next yet? I've had 3 DD payments taken, meter reads given every month but still no bill so is that standard with Eon?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

Everthing OK here. 3 DD taken and 3 bills provided bia meter readings that I gave them. Suggest you get hold of them pronto.

I've finally managed to clear my Symbio balance of £22. They've been emailing me for months trying to get me to click on some dodgy looking payment link or to pay by bank transfer to some unverifiable account details. I've been laughing at them and telling them to write me a physical letter with payment options.
At one point they suggested that I pay by cheque, to which I said I'd send one via carrier pigeon (it's 2022, who even has a cheque book anymore?). Finally they fixed their website and I was able to pay via a vaguely secure looking method. I'll miss their regular correspondence.1 -
Lots of elderly people who don’t use the internet still use cheque books.
many people in their 80s and 90s don’t use the internet

Cheques are also very useful when paying tradespeople when having work done in the home.0

Yes, my plumber was round here the other day servicing my boiler (aged 31 and still going strong!) and I said I'd pay him by bank credit which must be easier and cheaper for him. He said he still pays 10 to 15 cheques in to his account each week from customers who prefer to pay that way.1

Oh not to mention I’ve recently had cheques from symbio and eon next.
so very much still in use.
I don’t mind if they go through the app but with eon next I had to go to the post office so unnecessary mixing, travel, parking, pollution etc.
I also still get cheques with birthday and Christmas cards.
You can’t wrap up a bank transfer in a pretty box.0
