If you can't get through to Symbio, try withholding your number by using the prefix 141 from a landline or #31# from a mobile.
Tried that. Option 4 was the only working option

In July I used 287 units against their forecast of 554. Now in August  they have estimated I will use even more units to the tune of 595.

Of course it is not their thought it is all down to the National Grid!!!!!!!!!

So after joining mid June, I received my latest bill today.  They certainly live on another planet.

July, they estimated that I would use 290, I used 124.  August they have estimated 320.

I gave an EAC of 2582 and pay a fixed DD of £32, giving £384 a year.

They say they add 15% onto your anticipated usage, so 384/1.15 = £333.91

From my rates, this figure gives a kWh annual usage of 2413.  So it looks like I did quite well, as without their 15% added, their estimated usage is less than what I declared.

I will give them until January (6 months into my contract) and attempt to get my DD reduced, as I am looking at using around 2100 over 12-months.

Given that your account will only be £25 in credit in 6 months I very much doubt you'll get the DD reduced. You're on a fixed direct debit, so all their "overestimations" are purely academic as long as you provide monthly meter reads at the end of the month.

At the moment, I am using around £20 a month of elec and paying £32 on my DD.  Usage will go up as winter sets in and my fishtank's thermostats kicks in for longer.

My spreadsheet balance shows £50.51.  This includes my August's £32 DD.  They say that as soon as your balance (I am assuming not including that month's DD) reaches 15% of my annual cost, this will be refunded.   Going off £384, 15% of this is £57.60.  I should reach that around Christmas.

    £57.60 will be handy.

After two years with Symbio enjoying their low price, i am moving away simply because they are no longer cheap. Their renewal tariff is 3p more expensive than tariffs available to new customers, and even the new customer tariff is now the same as Eon...

Have been with symbio for about a year now and have sent them meter readings at the end of each month. Some months they charge me much less than the used amount; other months much more ! It's a lottery what they will charge you as it makes no sense. I am now about £150 in credit to them yet they won't reduce my monthly direct debit despite proving that's the electricity I've used used in a year and the following year will likely be less and won't be working from home, etc. Is there anything you can do to get this credit back or get them to reduce my direct debit? I am on a variable direct debit, yet they never charge correctly for the asmount used. Take this month for example. I should have been charged £69 yet was charged £82 and some months it's a lot more than this.

If it is credit as shown on your bill as a negative amount (over £50) then you can ask for it back (see https://www.symbioenergy.co.uk/faqs/#section8 )

Yep, otherwise email the quality assurance team (the details are on your bill) and state that you want a direct debit refund as you are in significant credit, see what they say.
