I've tried submitting readings this morning using two different browsers but I keep getting an error message with a recommendation to contact customer services.
Anyone else having difficulty? I'm going to leave it a few hours and try again.0 -
Same or similar problem. When I try to submit the reading and accompanying photograph I get the message: "An error occurred whilst sending data. Please contact customer service." I imagine we have filled their data storage capacity so there is no room for more photographs.Reed0

That sounds like a painniktheguru said:So, my switch away from symbio is due to complete tomorrow. Was thinking no more surprises.
Upon initiating the first switch, as has happened to others, symbio blocked it as they said I was £20 in arrears, when in actual fact it was just their overestimated advance billing making me go over and I was in fact £20 in credit.
After two phone calls (one before the switch checking they wouldn't block it, being told it looks good their end but if I wanted to make sure it went thru why don't I pay the extra £20....er no thanks) then the second call after it was blocked, again asking me for payment, but when he realised I knew what I was talking about he then caved in and said he would ensure there is no block.
Great I think, reinstated the switch, all looks like it's going ahead. Now today I receive an email asking for a closing meter read. The email states they need to receive the final meter reading by.....yesterday to ensure that the next bill isn't "estimated"......er that's not quite how final bills work.
Anyways, have submitted an up to date reading
....now having calculated it I owe them £3 to settle the account. I've asked them to send my final bill ASAP so I can pay this. I will not let them take a direct debit as I know they'll take a full 100quid, then take 3 months to pay it back to me.
Who knows what the next chapter will be in the symbio chronicles.
Maybe let them take the £100, by the time they let you switch away you would have probably eaten through it anyway
At least the longer you're with Symbio the more money you'll save

Meter readings submitted via app today. I used 323 units against their forecast of 566. I have checked my bills since October 2020 and they have on average refunded £18.00 a month and the eac was 4400. However they raised it to 4900 in January 2021. Interesting to see what the estimate for April will be.0

You may be making things worse for yourself. I left a few months ago and my closing date was something like the 6th of the month. Symbio delayed the monthly bill and rolled it into the final bill based on the closing meter reading. I ended up owing something like £12 with they took by DD a few days later. Their closing procedure, for me, was faultless.niktheguru said:I will not let them take a direct debit as I know they'll take a full 100quid, then take 3 months to pay it back to me.0 -
Yes, me too. But only after I started again from scratch.spot1034 said:

So... Symbio are back in credit default with Elexon again.

Last time this happened was one of the first time they took 2 (or maybe even 3) direct debit payments from everyone in the space of a week.
Just keep an eye on your bank accounts.0 -
Yes I understand that. To be honest my plan was to use enough energy before the switch (which happened today) to leave me "just" in credit. Just missed that by a few quid! Problem is my direct debit date is the 1st of the month, so I know full well if I switched on 31st they would just take the standard 100quid, and for a 3 quid shortfall it isn't worth the hassle. I will pay what I owe immediately after a bill is produced, I even emailed them prompting me to send it and giving the working of how I came to that figure....so basically its on a plate for them.Stratus said:

Just keep an eye on your bank accounts. They'll definitely be getting bills & DDR notices out tomorrow then!No doubt the bills will have estimates cranked up to max! My estimate history:
