Do not be taken in by the propaganda. Many punters, including me, have had no trouble finding as good a deal elsewhere. And in my own case, in November, it was a 12m fixed rather than Symbio's best same priced but variable tariff - and I couldn't be happier with the service, bills, info, etc. What a relief! Now just waiting for Ombudsman to extract recompense from SE.
Make no mistake, these guys are going down. They just want to go down fighting, and leave as much mess as possible for those who believe they got a good deal. :'(I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a self-satisfied pessimist0 -
Have a look at the filename. I've noticed that if I send a photo that I've renamed, it fails. Sending the file without changes works. Just sent one this morning.Reed_Richards said:Same or similar problem. When I try to submit the reading and accompanying photograph I get the message: "An error occurred whilst sending data. Please contact customer service." I imagine we have filled their data storage capacity so there is no room for more photographs.0 -
I just started a second year with Symbio. They slightly upped my DD which is fine but so far, two payments, they've taken the old sum and not the new amount. So it's no wonder they have problems if they forget what they're doing.0

New bill just arrived and as usual way over estimated again. Actual usage for March 326 but for April their estimate is 542 and 566 in March.0

Another money grab. I suspect they don't have long left before the inevitable later in the year.CRISPIANNE3 said:New bill just arrived and as usual way over estimated again. Actual usage for March 326 but for April their estimate is 542 and 566 in March.

I noticed that posts of yours that spelled out clearly what is likely to happen soon are no longer there. Are you self censoring or did some other entity demand they be removed?Swipe said:

I signed up to Symbio last month, after reading the posts on here and well aware of the anticipated poor service. I am also aware they use estimates and reconciliation, and that I must do monthly meter reads at the end of each month.I am here to look for some explanation into their billing rationale.I know you pay in advance of the month, but am still confused.I switched to them for the last week of March, and during that time they took a direct debit in excess of the agreed amount. I presumed this was to cover 5 weeks, so accept that I am already ahead by a month. But today they have taken another full months payment, which in effect means I have paid for the next 8 weeks (presuming my usage doesn’t dramatically change). Is this their normal practice?0

Anybody thats on a variable tariff expect a price adjustment email incoming shortly,I currently pay 13.011p per unit with 18.095 standing charge.
The very kind Symbio suggestion that I should move to on 01/05/2021 would be 16.367p per unit with standing charge of 21.00p.
For amusement I clicked the link in the email only to be quoted 12.002p per unit with standing charge of 22.00p starting on the same day, both variable tariffs.
Checked the March bill, they had to refund the balance of 121 overestimated units, still the ever increasing incompetence continues unabated.0
