Just to be clear, these are two different (possibly unrelated) products.

Yes - amazingly - Aldi has two different types of vegan non-sausage rolls.
Understood! I shall be on the lookout in the freezer cabinet for the mini ones priced 75p. If they are made of quorn, that is where they shall stay.

#meToo, I thought I was the only one, such a shame because Q'n seems the go to option in a lot of places with veggie option

I think about 10% of the population is; with me it's not just a question of feeling queasy, it's violent until every last molecule has been forcefully projected out of my stomach.

Why vegan foodstuffs aren't made with actual vegetables remains an unsolved mystery

As far as I know, the Aldi Vegan rolls are not made from Quorn, so if we could curtail the discussion on its alleged indigestibilty, there, please.

Thanks for the linky, it seems they are soya based. Its definitely worth having a couple of bags in the freezer to go with drinks when unexpected guests drop by. Not my go-to food, but at least it won't make me vomit (unlike quorn).

I believe Quorn is based on a fungus so if you don’t do well with mushrooms you won’t do well with Quorn.

    I'm ok with mushrooms though.

Speaking of which, Lidl's vegetarian Wellingtons are back in the frozen aisles, 3 varieties IIRC including mushroom and Stilton. These really are worth keeping in the freezer for unexpected guests that need feeding.

Anyone else having problems with both the Aldi and the Lidl blue stilton cheese these days? I have been buying it for years and until a few months ago always found it to be very pleasant and extremely good value for money. However, about six months ago I began to notice it had started to taste quite sour and rancid. Very unpleasant - rather like stilton that is way, way, way past it's best. Thinking it might just be my taste buds that have changed I have bought blue stilton from Waitrose and M & S over recent weeks and their's appears to be as fresh and zingy as I remember it should be. Seems strange that, imho, both Aldi and Lidl's stilton has deteriorated in quality at the same time....perhaps they both get it from the same source??

Surprised, and concerned to hear that. Haven’t had it for some time, but it used to come from the same creamery that supplied M&S. The code on the packs gives it away.

The supplier could have changed of course, but Stilton production is strictly limited and controlled and the quality should be consistent.

Could it perhaps be poor storage by Aldi and Lidl. I still see that, and their cool chain, as a potential weak spot.

I've not noticed any changes but I'm no expert so a subtle change could pass me by
