Lost my post....did start to post this morning but have been reading along trying to catch up
Hope everyone okay and those that needed to catch up on zzzzz's or catch their get up and go have managed to do it.
I was away and met up with DD at a sporting competition at the weekend. It was great but I think its knocked the stuffing out of both of us. Came home to find docs have changed my antibiotics. Just when they get a hold and sort out one bacteria another uprises. Funding is moving forward slowly so still plodding on.
We always split the spends when we have a sports weekend and we each take a food bag, pool them and take in what we need plus we have extra snacks in the room. The only spends at the arena all weekend- 2.50 for 2 bacon rolls Sunday morning much needed.
Just been out to do RM survey, getting alot to do of them at the minute
Banking all checked-everything good
Quidco checked
Just about to put DW on. Refused to do it earlier until I could put more in
Must clean kitchen floor. It's a right state esp after the weather we have had.
Really need to parcel up a present. Feel really bad bec it's late but after Christmas the last thing i want to do is wrap more presents
Have a couple of items to go to the CS tomorrow. If i can sort a couple more things I will be happy.
Have a lovely afternoon everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

1LL - Thanks for asking - the results from the job interviews took a fortnight longer than interviewees had been promised, but mr f did get one of them. It's bittersweet though as two of his team did not.

Hello Thursday Folk,
Am a bit out of sorts today - a bit of a rank meeting last night, then had to abandon my gardening plans today because of all the rain. A few achievements on the frugal front:
*Have made a really nice couscous salad for tonight just using what I'd got in, inc Use-it-ups.
*Did big pile of ironing...but only what needed it.
*Garden birds not fed today. They are on 'Use-it-up' too!
*Did meal plans for next week - mr f requested Malaysian prawn curry for Valentine's Day, which is perfect as I only need to buy root ginger for that.
*Wrote shopping list.
*Turn heel on 2nd sock as I want them finished by Monday.
*Read 2 documents from solicitor - not done (Frog).
*Make list of all the jobs I cam usefully do in town tomorrow.
*Free fitness - put a CD on & had a bit of a boogie while tidying up. Am on 'Last chance workout' as my next Weigh Day is Feb 14th so I need a squeaky clean week.

Arg the week has got away from me again. Was that Tuesday I last posted?
Well Tuesday was quite successful:
- all meals and snacks from stores - done
- heating back to timed and immersion off – done, turned thermostat down 1 degree (this *is* the small things thread after all)
- daily jobs - done
- bronze list jobs (this is a new strategy, I kind of cherrypicked through the flylady threads and gave myself a list of jobs in one room/area per day. Wrote it out in fat bronze marker as it was more cheerful than biro. Markers were used for the table plan at our wedding 3 1/2 years ago). Today is the main bedroom and landing – done, it’s so much better
- update banking spreadsheet for end of Jan (bit late but nvm) - done
- possibly dig out CV (might wait until tomorrow for this one, as get exam results then!) – not done, bit of a touchy subject tbh
Yesterday I did most of my daily jobs, meals and snacks were from stores, and I passed all my exams. I also discovered bags of the same kindling are 30p cheaper in waitr0se than in m0rrisons, which is nice as I was using their free car park anyway.
I did not do the bronze list jobs, partly because I hate cleaning the bathroom, and partly because I was knackered, and partly because I wanted to revel in my exam passes and loaf in front of a film instead. Tried to get a good night’s sleep… dog had other ideas.
Today:
- Bike to work am
- Meals and snacks from stores (wishing I’d brought some chocolate to work tbh)
- Walk dog for free exercise
- Daily jobs
- Bronze list jobs (bathroom, sitting room and hallway, lucky me)
Feeling a bit fed up in general really. At a job-related decision point, and it has become apparent that my hopes of working less if/when we have littlies aren’t going to happen, however hard I try to pay off debt and save first. It clearly hadn’t even entered my OH’s head that I might want that… which I guess is a win for feminism?!Heating has been off all day, just flicked on now for the kids. I was wondering, how cold do others' houses get when you leave the heating off? Currently sitting at 13 degrees having been off since 8am which feels pretty cold, but it is an old draughty house.
Nothing else doing today!

Um, yeah, ours doesn’t get that cold. 16 degrees? If I’m not on my own I’m first out/last in, so I have the heating set to come on a bit before I get in.0 -
Afternoon all
Really windy here atm, and keeps pouring down with rain, so no gardening here today either
Cheesecake made yesterday turned out yummy though
Ordered one of those Instant Pot things for DD2, who has been raving about them but can't afford one. Hopefully it will make her life easier! Anyone else got one? Not something I want for myself, as I have enough things cluttering up my worktop, but I got a good deal on Amazon (still expensive though!)
Had last brown banana for breakfast
Went to a market in neighbouring town this morning, bought lots of veg (a big shopping bag full for just over £3), a loaf of bread, two tins of fish and a thing to fasten my annoying hair back, and that is all. Just as well after large spend on Instant Pot
All spends duly noted in diary
Came back and had leftovers for lunch - OH had the last of yesterday's steak and kidney pie, and I had some leftover veg soup, with a slice of the nice bread we had bought
OH made some fishcakes for dinner using tinned fish, some leftover mash and parsley from the garden.
Spoke to DD1 on the phone
Also need to:
Check banks and update spreadsheet
Do some housework (!)
Had a phone call a short while ago re my CT scan, which will be on Monday morning :eek:0 -
Merida, Congrats on your exam success.
Foxgloves, Glad to hear that your dh is safe at work.
Hk, sounds like a very frugal weekend with your daughter
Dawn, I've not got one of those instant pots but have heard they're meant to be very good. Glad to hear you've got a date through for the scan.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Interesting - my sister/mums houses never get below 18 degrees so they think ours is freezing. Glad to know we're not that bad. :-)
Usual day at work today. The car passed it's MOT but work needed doing before the test, so we're awaiting the bill. Spending the evening doing a money-shuffle to accommodate it!
Not much else to report - have a nice evening folks. :-)0 -
