MadamMim I can relate to everything you have said. I gave up everything for DS1 - my job, my social life, my hobbies, my friends - but there were times when I thought, what if I had been a parent who just threw their hands in the air and said I cant cope?
I dont know your story but things can change. My DS was severely anxious, diagnosed with mild learning difficulties, possibly autistic, and with serious physical health problems. He now leads a more or less "normal" life. I still see how he struggles at times - but he has learnt to deal with it. He has also formed a little group of friends who for one reason or another are all "different" - one is gay, one had a really bad childhood, one was bullied at school, and they have bonded together.
I hope things get better - and yes, the embarrassment. I know that too. x
Tired this morning. Paid stuff, then possibly gym (will see how I feel). House needs attention. Will check in later, best get moving or I wont get a parking space.0 -

We've cancelled our plans to go out tonight because of the weather. OH got soggy this morning going to and from the gym and doesn't fancy it this evening as well. I'd like to see the film and on most occasions I'd like to go out to dinner, but frankly - enough. I just want to stay home and nest tonight, so hurrah! I miss Kelpie like mad, but if he had to go I'm very grateful he went before the grotty weather. Getting another dog isn't a high priority until it warms and dries up, although occasionally I see one I'm tempted by so I do apply but so far they've all been rabid cat chasers or someone else got there first.
Glad to hear you're firing on all cylinders, Piggers. Not much wrong with you, is there?!
(((Hugs))) Madam Mim. Vent away. We've all done it and it helps.
Woke up lovely and early and was bored stiff by Today, so I got up early, fed the cats, made tea and got the filing done. 5" of crud reduced to an empty basket. Fabulous feeling. I'm not working my way through the rest of my To Do list, some of which I can tick off already. the next job will probably take all day, but that's okay, it'll be done at last. My In Tray has only two tasks left it in: reprogramme the boiler (tried once, Fail) and reload Ipod, for which I need to go back to Factory Settings and start again, seriously boring). However, this is the closest I've come to emptying the In Tray since about 2003 so I'm feeling very excited. I find as I get older what excites me is very, very different from when I was younger!Better is good enough.0 -
Not done as much as I would have liked but do now feel the new bathroom project is heading in the right direction. Need to drag OH to chose tiles and bath, loo etc then quote can be finalised. Then will need to find others to quote so we can compare. Man also came to quote to cut back some hedges and remove others so moving forward with the house. Just need to find some money to pay for it now.

I hope you're having a bit of rest this evening, Valli. That sounds as though you're exhausted.
Are you still with us, Fuddle? How's it going?
I got another thing done on the 15 point list. Tick. I'm getting there.Better is good enough.0 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok today.
I'm up early as the dogs don't realise it's the weekend. They normally spend them at DDs house and sleep in till about 8 there. I may go back to bed for a while as the weather is pants and I've been kept awake by it. There is shed roofing felt in the garden which I am hoping is not from our shed.
Will try to update later on whether any flying actually gets done here today.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all,
I am usually quite full of beans on a Saturday but we all had a disturbed night with the wind so feel a bit jaded. DW unloaded, WM on, watching tv with the children now. DH in bed.
It really is blowing a gale here so if we go anywhere it will be in the car xMFW

Morning
Agreed to pick DS1 up from the pub at half twelve and was sooo tired. Emptied and refilled DW, then scrubbed worktops and sink in kitchen at half eleven to keep me awake. So at least I came down to a nice clean kitchen this morning.
Very windy but I slept like the dead when I finally got into bed at about 1am!!
DS2 has applied for a job in a local pub, he is not very outgoing and the last part time job he had was a disaster because the bloke in charge just shouted at DS constantly, which really knocked his confidence. I hope they take him on because it will do him so much good.
And atb despite the good nights sleep I feel a bit groggy this morning. I need a steady day I think.
Have put sheets in tumbler, no way will I get them to stay on the line. Flying has been minimal this week so I will need to gently catch up I think.0
