BUT they did not have all the documents so they were meant to bring them in today, they went in again but still do not have proof of address etc. and and now say the money is being gifted by their parents and will take at least two weeks to get into their account!!!!!
Meanwhile we have made an offer on yet another house we would like to buy buy it will not be accepted till our buyers have provided proof they have the money so we will probably loose yet another house!!!!
FTBs I hate them.
Yeah, cash buyers are always worse than dealing with long, complex chains of homeowners with unrealistic ideas of what their own property is worth or extremely particular requirements for a new property...
FTBs are the lifeblood of the property market - chains have to have an end or in most cases no-one is moving anywhere.0 -
Op why don't you just move in to rented when the sake goes through for a while, takes the stress off and breaks the chain so will probably save you sone money. Or don't you like renting either?0

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you...!0 -
:rotfl:you've got to be a special kind of stupid to write off selling to anyone who hasn't brought a house before0

stripeyfox, they made an offer which we accepted on condition they went into the estate agents on Monday with the documents listed by the agents.
So when the agents told us they were in the office on Monday and they were checking the documents we made an offer on the house we want.
Then we were told they did not have all the documents but would be back today with them. So we went to the agents selling the house we want to buy with all our documents. When they rang our agents they were told the FTBs still had not provided proof of address and were now saying it will take two weeks for them to get the money from a parent abroad.
So the house we want has had lots of views over the few days it is up for sale and I think we will loose it because they will not accept any offer until our agents see proof of our buyers funds.0 -
ah I see. thanks for the clarification.
btw my "special kind of stupid" comment was not directed at you OP, but the people saying "I wouldn't sell to a FTB"0 -
I guess the sellers of the house you want are thinking "I hate people making offers on houses when they haven't sold their own"An answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0

The sellers have PX'd with a building company and the building company are sympathetic but obviously are keeping the house on the market with 4, yes 4 estate agents.0

So op, tell me why you are thinking you are in a position to buy when you clearly are not?
Just sell before you buy, move out, then buy at your leisure.
You are no more in a position to buy than a rabbit0 -
lookstraightahead Because we were told TWICE that our buyers were in the agents office with all the necessary documents, and we had accepted their offer on the understanding that this was correct.
We were told early on they were cash buyers and wanted to proceed quickly.
So as were able to re-arrange our Tuesday schedule we put in an offer and went down to show all our documents.
How many of you buyers don't look for a house before weeks after your buyers have made an offer you accepted?0
