They were meant to bring all their details in two weeks ago for the agents finance people to check but didn't, now they are bringing them in Monday!
The house was built in 2006 and we bought from new it is in excellent condition with several improvements.
Not new to this have bought/sold 7 Uk properties and 6 French ones since the 70s.
We only have a small mortgage, about 15% of the value.

    Snowflakes are a fairly new phenomenon . . .

Yes, there were definitely no clueless, entitled people in previous generations.
  • If you have bought and sold a fair few properties then are you just not frustrated you aren't getting other viewings? They've not made an offer, so sensible there is no survey. I would be asking the agent why you aren't getting more viewings?
  • You're obviously miffed that your house is overpriced (no viewings) and you want to blame first time buyers because they are free to do as they choose.

Love all the comments about not selling to FTB's....

I'm a first time buyer myself. We have no chain. We have done everything we can do upto this point. We have a mortgage application done, Mortgage valuation are going in tomorrow. We have our solicitor ready on standby yet our vendor has still not had their offer up the chain accepted after 2 weeks so it could quite easily fall through.

Only thing we haven't arranged is our own survey because i'm not spending money until I know our vendor has got an offer accepted and is actually going to move.

Everybody was a FTB at some point.....
  • Mostly it's vendors with a false sense of what their house is worth / won't go into rented / think they are king of their castle. First time buyers have no chain and call the shots in my opinion.

At least this is all sorted out now, the seller doesn't know what an offer is
An answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......

well it is still not sorted, they were meant to go to the estate agents yesterday with all the documents and we said we would accept their last offer if they signed then. BUT they did not have all the documents so they were meant to bring them in today, they went in again but still do not have proof of address etc. and and now say the money is being gifted by their parents and will take at least two weeks to get into their account!!!!!
Meanwhile we have made an offer on yet another house we would like to buy buy it will not be accepted till our buyers have provided proof they have the money so we will probably loose yet another house!!!!
    FTBs I hate them.
  • there seems to be a lot of confusion and complication on their side but I'm also still not clear on:

    1) have they made an offer
    2) have you accepted their offer

    No other interest?

I would never offer on a property unless I had a buyer. You will make that property more appealing to others (human nature, plus it now proves it can be sold and the EAs will spin it so that buyers' hands are forced), they're less inclined to drop the price if no interest, or take an offer from you, and give you even less leeway with your own price. Prob other reasons.
