Hair washed and dried
Bath then duly cleaned as I didn’t do it yesterday
Bedrooms dusted including with the duster on a stick thingy
Upstairs floors vacuumed and stairs
Beds changed and 1 load washed and hanging up. I’m not as brave as Pollybear to hang them outside. Am drooling at the thought of smelling fruit cake cooking though.
Car scraped of ice in the vague hope that might help it to melt and dry off a bit quicker before I have to go out later.
A friend is coming round for a quick coffee so flying temporarily suspended for an hour.0 -
Happy birthday Miss Valli!
Our lovely neighbours are on their way to Glasgow today for her to start her new job up there. He'll be back next week to finish packing up the house and selling it. Very sad; they've been brilliant friends as well as good neighbours. I hope the roads and weather treat them kindly.
I've forgotten to do something really urgent and I've now run of time time on it. Very disappointed in myself. Must start working my way through my list right now. Back later.Better is good enough.0 -
The washing has all melted again now the sun is on the garden
And it is moving about with a slight breeze. It's a beautiful day but still icy in parts, we just had a little walk and I ache now where I was rigid with the fear of falling down! I'm not brave....
The kitchen smelt better before with the fruit cake cooking but I could still smell a little whiff of fish when we got back home. I can't think of anything else to clean and I've done all the vinegar/lemon juice stuff. Maybe the smell is just up my nose
Fish is meant to be good for us but I think I might just have to be bad.
Oh I did vacuum through downstairs and cleaned the toilet.0 -
Just diving in reminding myself housework still needs to be done. Not done anything this week apart from real basics.
DD2 is sick so blazer is in the wash after getting some splash back. _pale_
Going to dive into the master bedroom and set the robot off on the floor, S&S the ensuite and grab a load of washing for after the blazer is finished.
OH is working at home so hard to do much in the kitchen might nip into the dining room (formerly ROD) and give it a check; I don't want it to slip back to how it was.0 -
Take care, Polly bear, and do as I say, not as I did on Monday, when I was out walking Rosie: I fell over a tree root growing across the bridlepath, fell heavily full length, bashed my knees and landed with one fist under my ribcage. It wasn't too bad at the time, but I now have an enormous bruise. Hopefully nothing is broken or cracked, but it's painful to lift my left arm, and my right shoulder got damaged some years ago, so driving DH to horse piddle yesterday afternoon (routine appointment) was not the easiest thing I have done recently. I am fast becoming a wreck! It's a beautiful day but still icy in parts, we just had a little walk and I ache now where I was rigid with the fear of falling down! I'm not brave....
I haven't done much this week, either flying or other work, and in fact I went back to sleep at 11.00 this morning for almost two hours because I couldn't keep my eyes open (probably as a result of trying to keep comfortable during the night). Felling better now, so I will take Rosie out - there's nobody else to do it - and try my best to avoid all tree roots and stumps.
DH helped me strip our bed this morning and the bed clothes are in the WM. We have been sleeping under our summer quilt since about last May (sometimes I smuggle a fleecy blanket underneath) and the forecast suggests we might be more comfortable with our winter weight quilt tonight.
Best get out while the sun is still shining!0 -
Oh, I'm so sorry you fell Ionafan, I have a real fear of falling down whether it's icy or not. That's why I don't like coming down stairs or slopes, I just think if you fall going up you probably won't fall as far. Tree roots are tricky, when I take my DD1's dog out there is a footpath where it's hard to walk because the tree roots go every way and he doesn't realise I'm a wimp! Hope you heal up soon x0
