I just love being able to spend time reading and getting in to a good book (escape from the real world, sometimes you really need it)Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

Ok I don't feel so bad now, usually I don't start saving until Sept/Oct which is generally ok but leaves me a bit tight on the last pay packet before Christmas so this year hopefully it won't feel so tight.
We've only just put fuel in the car last weekend, that was the first time since March - so definite savings there. We've bought a few things online (treats and it was Mr FTD's birthday in May) but nothing to crazy excess.
It's nice to see savings building and debts going down, I wonder if anyone else has discovered that there are many things to do for free/very little cost that they wouldn't have realised if this pandemic hadn't hit. We've certainly discovered a couple of local walks that are beautiful and peaceful that perhaps we wouldn't have known about otherwise.
Right challenge for today - Father's Day gift for the Father-in-Law...this is no mean feat I can tell you
We have discovered some beautiful walk sine lockdown and will continue to use them after as well.
Hope you find a Father's Day gift.x

Done a bit more prep for when I eventually return to work, got myself a laptop stand for my table so that the top of the screen is at my eye line rather than having to look down. I contemplated buying a new office chair but have managed to persuade Mr FTD to let me borrow his from his work so we're going to pick that up at some point so that I can have a semi decent set up at home.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

Oh FTD that sounds lovely, going to the coast is good for the soul. We used to go at least once a week but we haven’t been for a long time, since lock down so I’m really missing it.

Finally made it to the coast this morning, it was busier than we thought it would be but managed to stay away from everyone else and enjoyed an hour walking along, listening to the sea and just breathing in the fresh air. We'll go for another walk this afternoon in the local countryside but other than that a pretty chilled weekend in the FTD household.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

We live at the coast and the beaches and surrounding area have been really busy ever since the relaxing of lockdown. Today is the first time in weeks DH and I have been for a walk along the path at the top of the beach where we live. I don't like walking on the beach itself because it's really stony and hurts my feet, even through my shoes.
I'm hoping it might be better this week depending on how many children go back to school. My neighbour works in the local school and they've been told a lot more children are expected to be in than were in this week.
