Thank you @enthusiasticsaver - I'm not enjoying the heat, it is too hot for me at the moment. Grateful for the parasolenthusiasticsaver said:
Well done on getting into the £3k bracket with the loan. Only 8 payments to go now. Totally agree with the parasol purchase. It is scorching hot out there so it will be useful and is necessary. Hopefully you did not buy it on a credit card though.
definitely not on the credit card, satisfyingly paid for with my own money

Thanks @missymoo81 it's a funny place to be in, so close yet so far! It's exciting in the sense we've never got this close before but also feels like it will never happen.missymoo81 said:Yay well done on braking into the 3’s must feel like you’re so close now!Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

Random musings for today....isn't is such a worry when you have money in your account and you're not really sure why you have that amount left? My only concern is what have I forgotten to pay? Or is it just that I'm not going anywhere and wasting money on top up shops or random stuff I don't 'need'Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

So, just spontaneously decided it's time to start building my Christmas (sorry, I know it's only June!!) pot so I've transferred £100 to one of my dormant accounts (normally used for weekends away/hols etc...clearly not having any of those)
Fingers crossed I won't regret that but easy enough to get the money back to my spends account if I need to.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

Not at all; mines scheduled to begin in July. You've a months head start on me on that Christmas saving😂🎅👌findingthisdifficult said:So, just spontaneously decided it's time to start building my Christmas (sorry, I know it's only June!!) pot so I've transferred £100 to one of my dormant accounts (normally used for weekends away/hols etc...clearly not having any of those)

That aside, my Mrs is hoping we can still get to RoI for a week (we live north); if so it'll nibble a fair bit into my savings schedule but better than having or building the 5 figure debts againAdmin for Tilly Tidy to £1825 DFW challenge: 2021

I’m starting my Christmas sinking fund next month when I should be back to work. DH and DS are having a PS5 to share so I need to get saving pronto.findingthisdifficult said:So, just spontaneously decided it's time to start building my Christmas (sorry, I know it's only June!!) pot so I've transferred £100 to one of my dormant accounts (normally used for weekends away/hols etc...clearly not having any of those)

I start saving for Xmas in June too. January to June is usually holidays and June to December Xmas. As all our holidays have been moved to 2021 because of the virus that will look healthy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. It is probably because there are less opportunities to spend. No coffee shops, restaurants etc open and if working from home you are not out so much. Less fuel used/ bus and train fares if working from home? Lots of people, us included have surpluses at the moment. Only if on full pay of course.findingthisdifficult said:Random musings for today....isn't is such a worry when you have money in your account and you're not really sure why you have that amount left? Thanks for dropping in @IrishSean @Xspender @enthusiasticsaver
Ok I don't feel so bad now, usually I don't start saving until Sept/Oct which is generally ok but leaves me a bit tight on the last pay packet before Christmas so this year hopefully it won't feel so tight.
We've only just put fuel in the car last weekend, that was the first time since March - so definite savings there. We've bought a few things online (treats and it was Mr FTD's birthday in May) but nothing to crazy excess.
It's nice to see savings building and debts going down, I wonder if anyone else has discovered that there are many things to do for free/very little cost that they wouldn't have realised if this pandemic hadn't hit. We've certainly discovered a couple of local walks that are beautiful and peaceful that perhaps we wouldn't have known about otherwise.

I need a coffee maker to replace my old one that's not drawing the water thru anymore and is leaking; it was a dolce gusto; DW saw it reduced years ago (maybe 10!) reduced from £100 to £50 and she had £40 in tesco vouchers so that wee machine has got me up and at the world for a decade for the equivalent of £1 a year😂😂 #bargainofthedecadefindingthisdifficult said:
