Hi Findingthisdifficult, I have just read your thread from start to finish, you’ve done so well! I am EXACTLY like you in the wobbles, things that have been talked about in the last 6 months of debt paying have been, new beds, mattresses, cars, home gym equipment, expensive trainers, phones. Thankfully we’ve managed to avoid all of those! But it’s so hard isn’t it! You’re doing a great job, even if this v difficult time. Keep it up x0

You literally don't know what is around the corner, so should be super careful when making big spending decisions.
There's also a group who will move heaven & earth not to be in debt and this crisis is facilitating it: I read somewhere there's been several billion paid back from the UK domestic debt mountain.
I have to admit I wasn't desperate for a 0% overdraft but I reckoned between april and july it was the cheapest option to cover the big bills over the summer; as it was an overdraft I already had it wud have zero impact on my credit file. N'wide gave me the full £1500 0% so I chucked the lot on payday into savings, so they wouldn't suspend the 0% offer😂
They were so mean in the past tho; we asked for a mortgage holiday of a few months when the kids were born (about 13 years ago, pre-crash) and they said no: our credit file was perfect and we were on double income. I was so cross with n'wide then. They actually disadvantaged themselves not agreeing a hol for us and making more off us in interest.
Banks and CC companies annoy me at the best of times but that was ridiculous...
In short, the less we pay any of them in interest the better!Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

We desperately need a new mattress, my laptop is on it's way out and I'd love a new car however these things have to wait for now. Next year I will be able to fund my mattress and laptop within a couple of months without relying on credit.
We are going to look at some garden furniture tomorrow - the in-laws have offered to get us some as a late anniversary present, that will help enhance my time spent at home under that new parasol
It's definitely more motivating to clear the debt the closer we get to the finish line. Had to get fuel today for the first time since late Feb...I was reluctant to do that but luckily it's so cheap at the moment it was literally half our usual cost.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

So here we are with a new month update, certainly put a smile on my face this morning.
Bit the bullet and paid £300 off the CC this morning so the totals are looking like:
LOAN £3961
CC £2400
75% of debt paid
And as you can see, the pesky loan is now in to the £3k bracket.

Well done on getting into the £3k bracket with the loan. Only 8 payments to go now. Totally agree with the parasol purchase. It is scorching hot out there so it will be useful and is necessary. Hopefully you did not buy it on a credit card though.
