    Good morning,

Feeling a bit energised after a week of being too unwell to work and not unwell enough to warrant going back to bed. Either DH or myself has got to meet with the old landlord today to do a post-moving-out inspection. We won't get all the deposit back because the kids were very hard on the paintwork and the garden is a mess. It could be fixed but we've run out of steam and still haven't finished unpacking here. Not very OS, paying rather than doing, but sometimes time has to take priority over cash. Especially as my 3 weeks of a lower teaching load have just finished and I'll be absolutely knackered with work-work for the next 4-5 weeks.

    The must-do jobs today are:

    1. get the meter readings at the old house
    2. sort out the hotspot on the side bench in the kitchen
    3. wash sheets and duvet covers
    4. sort out clean washing
    5. ironing
    6. vacuuming
    7. clean bathrooms & bedroom mirrors
    8. shopping: bin bags, drynites for DS (sainsbury's never have them at the moment)

Other things I would like to do are:

    a. Make a food inventory and a master plan to use it up!
    b. Sort out which old clothes are suitable for e-bay and take photos of them.
    c. Empty at least two boxes from the 'playroom'.
    d. Deal with the living room dresser hotspot.

But I doubt all that will be done.

  • Morning all,

Haven't been around or very OS for a while as life has just passed me by. My nan passed away on Oct 30th so have been dealing with the aftermath, clearing her house etc and am just feeling totally drained.

Anyway, am starting to get back on track today and will take it gradually.

Haven't had a chance to read the other threads yet - so HUGE hugs to anyone who is having a hard time at the moment, and of course there is also hugs for anyone that just want one!

    Plan for today:

1:Quick tidy of the house - got a firend and her DD coming.
2:Roast Pork and all the trimmings for lunch.
Bit of planning for the week ahead tonight.

    Catch you all later.

    Frugalpie
    xx
  • Morning everyone,
I hope young master Pink is on the mend.

There's a lot of rushing around here at the moment. OH and Ds2 are off swimming and OH wants to get out of the pool before 11 o'clock -difficult to have 2 mins silence in a swimming pool.

    Don't forget to remember everyone.

Not sure what we're having for lunch -I've got a chicken but I think we'll have that for supper:think: Must have a think about packed lunches for tomorrow as well.

thinking of you all who are poorly or mourning the loss of loved ones.

today for me is a "sort out house day" Yesterday I was very lazy, so in a minute off to Asda then I have lots to do around the house. weather looks good so will be able to get washing hung outside. just waiting on first load finishing before I head out. It amazing how motivated you can get when you should be doing something else (got course work and an essay to do ;) )

Nice day here again, got roast pork and all the trimming for lunch, might pop out this morning, DD has been given a years membership to an art gallery in chichester, and wants to go over, I also need a new microwave, as the paint stuff on the inside is chipping off, and I am not sure how safe this is
I only want a tiny one as we only ever use it for re-heating, there is a homebase there.

Lazy afternoon planned watching star track on the tv later.

  • Good morning everyone, what a gorgeous sunny day it is, haven't been outside yet, it might be freezing but it just looks so lovely.

I have already done the housework and ironing this morning and have a shank of mutton simmering on the cooker to make potato soup (great for lunches during the week). Lunch and dinner today are leftovers from yesterday. Managed to use some more food from the freezer yesterday when DS2 and fiancee visited unexpectedly.

Hugs to : Amie, Mrs F, Pink, Aussielass and Frugalpie.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunny Sunday !!!

    Morning

Up early for me - particularly as it was a late one last night (or an early one this morning which ever way you look at it:o ) My mate and I decided last minute to go to a Salsa club in Manchester we found a few weeks ago. It is so much more fun than your average British night club - everyone dances with everyone and its rare you are off the dance floor unless you want to be. Meeting people must be so much easier in "salsa" countries than it is here - my range of dance partners spanned from a woman  (now thats not something you would ever get here a woman asking a woman to dance - and no she wasnt by the way:D she was however a salsa teacher and a very good dancer) through to some rather pleasant on the eye youngish blokes through to a guy in a cardi (probably with biscuits in the pocket) who you would swear was going to drop over dead any minute but in fact could dance the legs of anyone there:j :D. I had such a good time and didnt really drink much (2 glasses of wine all night) as you just dont have time - maybe salsa is the answer to binge Britain as well:beer:

So some good news today (well I hope it is) I rang the kitchen company yesterday and had a minor paddy so apparantly I have a fitter coming round today - not holding my breath but I really hope so this is getting silly now.

So jobs for today will be to continue work from yesterday - (well let me honest - start the work from yesterday:o ) may do some ironing later if I am looking for someway of getting out of working.:D

Pink - Hope today goes well for you all and hes out in time for Sunday lunch
Mrs F - What a sad day that will be - hope it goes as well as it can
DLb - Hope your lads win the footy today
Thrift lady - My brother is serving in afganistan at the moment so thanks for reminding everyone to remember.

    Happy Sunday to you all
    Hugs

Nothing exciting planned for today, just housework, WM is on, but it's raining out so thw washing will be dried on the rads. I need to unload & reload the DW, just waiting for the lodger to finish her phone call so I can get to the machine.
I've had a good idea regarding family Christmas presents, I'm going to make 3 of my kids a Christmas hamper with a difference, I'm making each of them a freezer drawer full of home cooked meals, all the dishes they remember fron their childhood. Cottage Pie, Tex Mex Chillie, Fish Pie, Lentil Roast, Stoop, Flapjacks & HM Biccies. All 3 of them work long hours & all cook mostly from scratch, so it will give them all a break, I'm making Mars Bar vodka for the youngest.
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester
