Before me and my husband were married (or even engaged) his gran gave me a porceline doll that was dressed as a bride and looked scarily like me!!
The year after we were married she gave me 2 baby porceline dolls!
Hinting much!!:rotfl:And truth be told I miss you...And truth be told I'm lying0 -
Last year, my mum (who has fab taste - I let her buy all my clothes and stuff as she always knows exactly what to get me, and always buys me brilliant presents) gave me smellies. Not bad you think. But she gave me a load of them - that was virtually all she bought me. Including some nasty lavender stuff from Tesco which I used in an emergency when I ran out of bubble bath and was well... nasty. I was really upset and disappointed but didnt say anything as I didnt want to hurt her feelings.
She redeemed herself on my birthday this year though by buying me the most fab jumper ever.... its exactly what I would have chosen for myself and I was gutted when I went back to the shop to find they had none left as I wanted another!!! Never mind.
And one year my sis bought me a strange brown handbag with orange pom-poms hanging from it. Hmmmmm!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
My worst ever present was a desk for my bedroom when I was 13. Worse still when I left home at 16 I wasn't allowed to take it cos my Mum said it belonged in her house!!!

A teatowel with a recipe for yorkshire pudding (from my mother in law)
A CD of 'housework songs' (same mother in law, different year)
A basket of jam, crackers, chocolates, biscuits and chutneys a month after I gave up carbs (same mother in law, this year)
My own mother isn't very good at presents either, so this year we've agreed no more! hurrah!!! :j :j:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:AThinks Naughty Things Too Much Clique Member No 3, 4 & 5

Received from ex MIL a plastic nurse figure!!!
From ex hubby a pack of two pillows.
Mind you I once bought my nephew a lovely shampoo, brush, gel, male grooming set, forgetting that he had alopecia and all his hair had fallen outFortunately he had a sense of humour about it but I still cringe at the thought of it now.

When I was little I received a cassette of Children's Hymns from a lovely elderly neighbour. It was unwrapped (think he just took it from his own collection) and when I opened the case the cassette was missing... didn't have the heart to tell him though...
2 years ago I had a lovely fleecy dressing gown from my OH's gran - 2 sizes too big! And not in a comfy, cosy kind of way either... I looked like the michelin man in it ...
One year my mother received a shoebox from her ex MIL which contained children's size 7 knickers and a pack of CHRISTMAS TAGS!!! Can't imagine what she was thinking - my mother was a size 12 and was a woman in her thirties. This was 20 years ago so it wasn't that MIL was getting old, she was just notoriously mean....0 -
My sister brought me a pair of empty bottles with corks ( cos I liked that sort of thing?!) I was 18 she was 16. She bought our great gran a bottle of Baileys! the same christmas
