Front part of HGV lorry parked outside? Illegal?

Is this a separate complaint? What does it have to do with the tractor unit? For instance twice, I have a local yob, get dropped off by his friends at 4am0 -
Unless there is a weight restriction it is perfectly legal for them to park there with or without the trailer.About two or three weeks ago, I had a HGV vehicle lorry parking overnight outside my house. It is a residential street. The HGV vehicle is taller then the houses in the area.
This is just the front part of a HGV lorry, so it is n't pulling anything.
Probably because they're sick of parking on industrial estates where they can't go get something to eat, have a pint after a 15hr day, having their diesel nicked.I don't know why they don't park on some street in an industrial estate,
What utter rubbish. But it also a security risk in terms of neighbourhood watch, because people can't see my house and vice versa.
I doubt it. At the end of a 15hr day you just want to get your head down.Last time, alongside this HGV there are another vehicle, a black shiny pick-up truck. Whilst the engine of the HGV was off, but the pick-up truck had the engine running all night long. There were people inside, so I assume it was the lorry driver and a mate.
.
I'm not surprised given it was parked legally. They've better things to do than deal with NIMBYs.I am in the area, where the police would not attend....
Perhaps you should move to somewhere less crime ridden. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I thought the Operators Licence was only granted on the fact that the vehicle would be parked overnight in the depot when " at home ", i know it can be parked some other place when on the road,ie lorry park, motorway service area etc.0 -
Instead of coming on here moaning about the driver legally parking outside you house go out and ask him if he wants a drink or something to eat. Remember you need him everything you have has been on a lorry.0

if the drivers hours are up , they cannot drive back to baseVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
As a one off this is possibly true but the original poster states this has happened more than once. The driver must have known his hours were almost up on the tacho.
It is true that's why the driver parked up, The driver could park there 5 nights a week if he wanted the tacho has nothing to do with where he parks.0 -
At least when the truck is outside, it prevents the noisy yob from parking there...No free lunch, and no free laptop

If making noise ask him to stop. That's about as far as it goes and the only nuisance. Everything else is the ops problem.0

If the haulier's HQ is close by and they are using a base other than their registered one on a regular basis they could lose their operator's licence. 5 nights a week would be using the street as a base.0
