Indeed it is.

Brandon Lewis's propaganda team at Central Office have sent me two emails in two days talking of Labour stealing Brexit and other paranoid statements.

The avalanche of good news about Brexit just keeps coming.
Fervent Leaver Dyson announces he is going to live by his word and is leaving Europe himself, and taking Dyson with him. The company will now be based in Singapore. When asked if Dyson was still a British company he muttered something about it being "global" and hurried off somewhere, presumably to look into how many more Brits he can offload before even the Tories realise something has gone wrong.
P&O is putting all its ships under the Cypriot flag (they'll be stopping France for £1 with a copy of yesterday's Sun next). Sony is saying a tearful farewell to the UK and will be moving its European headquarters to Amsterdam, and Pets At Home is stockpiling catfood in anticipation of Brexit meaning they can't import any.

Yes it's all going swimmingly isn't it Brexiteers, nothing to see here, it's all just name plates moving around and British cats will finally have the freedom to roam around eating squirrels without Brussels' meddling.
Maybe they can bring some back for their owners to eat when the contents of our supermarkets are stuck at Dover because freedom.
It would all be so funny if it were not so deadly serious.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
Interesting blog by John Curtis whichever Brexit solution you favour.

You know it's bad when the incumbent Tory PM is blaming her abject failure on Jeremy Corbyn refusing to come to No. 10 for tea so he can tell her what she should do.
I can't work out what is worse now:- Delay Brexit - protests and more of this awful limbo indefinitely as we get poorer as more and more investors abandon the UK
- Leave with No Deal - New kind of limbo while the Tories tear up most of the social contract and turn us into an offshore tax haven for billionaires
- Leave with May's deal - a 300 page document made by Whitehall civil servants and the EU that the Brexit Secretary disowned and that she and most of her cabinet almost certainly hasn't read in full and doesn't understand anyway

Dyson is a hypocrite. I respect the right of leavers to want to leave, but do expect, if they are going to spout off non stop like Dyson, to keep their skin in the game. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Dyson wouldn't be leaving but for the fact that anything other than a no deal will leave us trapped in the EU's tax and regulatory regime.
And last time I looked P&O wasn't a UK owned company. The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.0 -

I can't see Mays deal ever getting through, though I suspect she'll run it up to the deadline and hope enough pressure fornavpidikg no deal with mean they go with hers. I think if that happens we'll get a no deal.
I honestly don't know what the best outcome is. Any delay will hurt us in terms of market/business/consumer confidence, but undoing brexit will cause huge discontent and a lot of what iffing and another push to leave the EU.
I keep coming round to a negotiated WTO brexit being the least bad option. Negotiated so that we can do things like fly into Europe/US, but otherwise WTO terms for goods and Visas for people.
That'll either kill off the leaving arguments by showing how bad an idea of was, or it'll be a success. If the former, then at least we'll be focused on re-joining before the last of our businesses leave.
I can't tell if remaining at the last minute is enough for the disaster capitalists, or if they need us out for 6 months to do some serious asset stripping.0 -
It really does take some level of delusion and arrogance not to realise that the people who own the other side of the border also get to decide what happens to it.
I feel sorry for Eire, they really are between a rock and a hard place. If they wake up on April Fool's day and there is no agreement in place then of course they'll have to close the border. They can no more move goods and people freely over it than they can from Botswana.
Maybe the day should be renamed Brexit Fools's day. There are certainly enough of them over here to deserve their own special day.
I just love BREXIT FOOLS DAY
has a nice ring to it, like a funeral bell. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

If Britain decides not to leave the EU this time, the operative words are “this time”
Just like Quebec, Catalonia, French and Spanish Basque Countrys, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily and countries effected by Pandemics like Zika or Ebola, Britain is blighted. Why would anyone wanting a foothold in Europe invest in a Britain who could suddenly reverse a decision and stay or leave or leave and stay. Flip, flop!
Even if Britain were to stay in the EU, Brexit Blight will effect Britain for a lifetime if not longer. Who will trust Britain again? There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Dyson is leaving because he wants to be able to continue selling expensive vacuum cleaners to the EU, something he might not be able to do if they remain in Britain.
It seems P&O want to align with the EU for tax reasons where they pay based on tonnage not profit. I'm not clear if that affects who they pay the tax to. Clearly we will have no say.0
