Brexit the economy and house prices part 7: Brexit Harder

This is just a re-run of the 2016 project fear.
We've got bigger problems if we leave. Maybe we should choose the one where we get to eat.
When I was involved in Risk Assessments, we had to look at not only the severity of the threat but also assess the likelihood of it occurring.
Maybe there are some pages missing?0 -
Maybe there are some pages missing?
If you mean from the yellow hammer report, then yes the government has only released the summary (renaming it from base case to worse case, so they can spin it away).whereas the allegations of impending disaster for the UK are continually being diluted.
Diluted now almost to the point of positivity instead of disaster.
Like Collateralized Debt Obligations? I can't possibly see anything wrong with manipulating peoples perceptions from something negative to positive, without changing the actual underlying thing itself. No wonder the EU are sh1 ##ing themselves that after Brexit the UK will prosper.
That is an woefully inadequate summary of the situation. They don't want to give us an advantage that they don't have, while simultaneously giving all their stuff away. But then that is kinda obvious isn't? You'd have to have a very distorted view of others to think they are bad for doing that.0 -
To my surprise theres actually a UkGov Facebook page. And it has a Brexit thread!
At last Arklight reaches the 21st century! :T
The real problem with Brexit is that there appears to be far too many people determinedly against it that do nothing more than act as keyboard warriors from inside their little insulated hutches, their supposed knowledge garnered from bits and bytes rather than real flesh and blood people.
No wonder their views are somewhat askew.0 -

Facebook went out of fashion in 2010, dear. Although it's apparently popular with old people.0 -

You just won't admit to being so out-of-touch and out-of-date that your perceptions are skewed.
Although I personally don't use Facebook I do know what it is, what it contains and how to use it.
Almost 1.6 BILLION people per day log in, but you've only just realised that our Government make use of the site too?
:rotfl:
You really need to keep up, FB's got all sorts from football clubs to musicians to motoring pages galore.
Even Trump isn't purely a Twitterer you know, the US Gov't also uses Facebook as does a fair proportion of the rest of the world.
Ageist too, are you?
Well the largest age group using Facebook by far is the 25-34 range.
26% of users fall into that category.
Try telling me you're younger than that; not by your comments for certain you're not.
Only 7% of over-65's use Facebook in the UK according to Statista.
So, you still think Facebook is "out of fashion" and "popular with old people"?
See, you are out of touch.
In a post not long ago you tried to decry people using their chauffeur-driven Daimler cars, a regular happening maybe 30 years ago but certainly not in recent years.
You didn't even seem to realise that there has't been a new Daimler car available for years.
It looks like you really desperately need to leave the obvious comfort your keyboard & screen provides and get out more.
Talk to real people and see things with your own eyes.
Then you'll soon find you aren't quite so out of touch.
Of course, there's no guarantees that it will improve your somewhat hate-filled outlook for anyone whose opinions are at odds with yours.
Have a lovely Saturday.0 -

How is that different to what you're doing?
I agree there are a lot of people determined against it though, I assume you're suggesting we put down our keyboards and have a second referendum.0 -
We had the referendum.
We were told it would be a one-off, once-only opportunity.
Now implement the decision, get rid of those MP's who are against the wishes of their voters and let us leave.
406 constituencies voted to leave vs 242 to remain.
Yet only 160 MP's wanted to leave vs 486 to remain.
THAT IS THE PROBLEM, not that we can't or it's difficult or it's the EU or anything else.
It is these MP's not doing as their voters ask.0 -

When you face the evil of the leave campaign you have to decide which side you want to fight, so the lines are drawn.
You want to destroy this country and everything it stands, just because you managed to catch people unaware. Nobody is going to make it easy for you.

I wouldn't know because I never actually use it but if you say so.

Cool story bro0 -
Sorry.
Not in the slightest little bit.
You're alligning yourself with those who have actively refused to allow the democratic result of a referendum to be implemented for over three years now, using any dirty means possible to deny what was legally and democratically decided.
As for destroying the country, if had been done as has been done for centuries and the democratic decision fully implemented without this refusal by dissenters there would be no destroying of our country.
Do not try to blame leavers for destroying the country when it is very obviously remainers who are point blank refusing to accept a democratically arrived-at decision.
This likeminded mob rule is of a kind not seen since the seventeenth century in this country; not only are you responsible for ignoring democracy but you are responsible for turning back the clock almost 500 years and introducing revolution.
Shame on you.
Shame on you and on all those others determined to ignore the stated wishes of 17.4 million British people in favour of your own corrupt desires.0
