That's the current situation, with the EU holding the gun.

We can't leave with or without a deal it seems, unless it favours the EU.

You're plain wrong. The EU will let us leave, with or without a deal. They want us to negotiate, but we are refusing to.

They just aren't going to slash their own throats just because a bully is holding a gun to their head.

Can you explain why you are so prejudiced against them?

We will soon find out if the EU gets asked for another extension.

    Johnson humiliated.

Corbyn could have proved to have played a blinder here. Bojo won't win his vote, nor will he be allowed to call an election. For once this sack of hot wind will have to sit in his poopy diaper.

All it takes is for 1 EU country to not allow the extension. If no deal Brexit is that disastrous then it's folly to leave it up to any of the EU 27.

That is like saying that if dying is so bad then you better kill yourself.

I wonder how you think negotiation should without putting your fate in the others hands?

I've spoken to a few conservative party members in the last few weeks and they have gleefully told me that the government controls the order in the house, it seems that you can fight back against the system.

The remain MP have it in their hands tomorrow to cancel Brexit, it seems they will abdicate all responsibility and leave it to BJ to do something he has said he will not do and hope no EU country that wants to make history and boot out the UK regardless. Great idea!

I think all the bill will do is give parliament a decision whether to accept no deal after the 17th.

Various proposals have been put forward but they dont wash. Why? Well, Varadkar let this slip yesterday on the news - he decreed that the issue wasnt making the board frctionless, rather the issue is having a board at all. All of Ireland must have the same duties and tariffs. The means it needs to be in a customs union. That means backstop or bust. Gotta feeling its gonna be bust.

Of course it needs to be frictionless, that's the part about not violating the GFA. No-one cares if there's a border (there already is a border) as long as it doesn't affect anyones daily lives.

Unfortunately frictionless means no stops at all - random or otherwise, which means an open uncontrolled border, which means regulatory alignment. Regulatory divergence means border friction somewhere. Ideally, we can do that in the Irish sea since we don't need to rely on the DUP now.

    Realistically the options are:
Border in the Irish sea - upsets the Unionists
Border in Eire/NI - upsets the Irish & violates the GFA
No border - means regulatory alignment.

We're leaving the EU, the EU therefor has no obligation to care about how a deal affects us, so of course they are going to want a deal that favours and protects them. Why would they do anything else?
We can leave any time we want, we just need to decide on what that's going to look like. We can't keep asking for the cake-and-eat-it Brexit.

B.b.b.b.b.ut we were promised we held all the cards and we would be able to bully them into giving us a deal that was better than being a member of the EU!

It's not fair, we wanted to bully them & not the other way around. Why won't they just give in?

Who do they even think they are? They aren't British!

    irony obviously
