Panic buying fuelled by scaremongering as we apparently charge headlong into the end of civilisations :rotfl: Let's get real.

Warehousing and stockpiling happens every Christmas, it's part of the over commercialisation that leads many to spend far beyond their means every year.

Perhaps a few moments of rationale thought on both these areas may lead us to a more reasoned perspective on Brexit and a more sustainable position long term.

I have worked in the food industry all my life.Christmas is a logistical nightmare.Into January, shortages invariably occur at least three weeks in.You cannot comprehend the sheer volume of food purchased in December! It is ehen people decide they CAN cook, but they need two month's worth- for a couple of days!

Chuck in Brexit ,and we have a perfect storm.Trust me,that grub don't appear by magic! People panic at Christmas, give them a proper reason, and watch the fun...

Sunk cost fallacy from the hard Brexiteers. Well that's what I think, and they know it will be a total disaster for all of us (apart from the ERG and their hangers on), but refuse to admit it. And will continue to deny it.

Honestly, has common sense left the room? Probably, to be replaced by an arrogance/lack of reality I have never had the pleasure of seeing before now.

People scare easily. You presumably don't remember the fuel shortages we had which started with panic buying of petrol and followed on with panic buying in the supermarkets?

That was a few truckers blocking the entrances to distribution hubs, this has the potential to be far worse because little of it will be in the hands of the UK.

You might think you are above it all but when you see the woman in front of you scoop a shelf load of marrow fat peas into her trolley you will be panicking like everyone else.

Simple solution is 4 tins max peas per customer per visit, government could enforce that overnight if people get silly. (In reality the PTB want panic buying because it will give retail figures a much needed boost. Wonder how the people who went "Panic Buying" last time we were supposed to leave feel about it though?)

Prosperity comes from trade, which will be the first thing that Brexit will change. Probably for the better in the long run.

This is just a baseless statement with no justification. How will it change for the better? What deficit in our trading agreements will Brexit rectify?

Ah! Rationing. That'll set people's minds at ease. Not quite sure it's what people voted for though. Although there'll be someone along in a moment telling me that it will be worth it to regain our "sovereignty".

    Oh Dear.
The usual suspects are passing the rhetorical hemlock between themselves again. :)
