Oh dear...oh dear....
Corbyn has had to come off the fence. This should open up the divisions in the Labour party. Slowly we are edging forward.0 -

Nigeria is not in Asia, I believe.
No sh*t Sherlock;) How is that relevant? As for Vietnam, over the last 30 years, it's GDP has never increased by less than 5% per annum, it’s GDP per capita has increased by nearly 1000% and it has very low unemployment. It seems to be doing OK.
Having lived there I am aware of their development. However, it is based on low employment costs. How sustainable is that for the timescales mentioned in the article? In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
Why there is still fight whether Brexit is good/bad? The vote happened 3 years back and people spoken on what they want.
If people want tea (= leave) there is not much point in trying to convince why coffee ( = remain) is better for health.
Both are healthy beverages with pros and cons. If customer (= electorates) wants tea (= Brexit) the shop (= politicans) should simply brew it and serve hot.
Imgaine going to a cafe, order tea and then chef coming to your desk shouting why you must order coffee, then give you a long lecture why you should change your mind about tea and start drinking coffee.
That customer possibly also drinks coffee other times. But if you drink him/her coffee at gunpoint, s/he will be put off drinking coffee for life.
Get on with Brexit, see how life is outside EU, offer another referendum in 5 years time and see what people say that time.
What if you bought what you thought was lemonade but ended up being a glass of horse!!!!? Wouldn't you want the barman to ask you if you're sure.0 -
EU parliament to back visa-free travel for Britons after Brexit - even if there is No Deal
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6643569/EU-parliamentarians-visa-free-travel-Britons-Brexit.html
Another project fear proven wrong
The daily mail couldn't even keep the lie up for a single line
The headline is "EU parliament to back"
With a bullet point of "EU Parliament committee to propose"
By the actual first line of the article it's "A European Parliament committee is expected to propose"
Which is essentially going from "they are doing this" to "they are going to say they are doing this" to "we think they are going to say they are doing this" in three simple steps.
Do daily mail readers not see how they are manipulated?
Isn't this just the existing visa waiver (ETIAS)? Which is pretty much the same as a visa really.
I'd love to see where your so called "project fear" said any that you claim.Having lived there I am aware of their development. However, it is based on low employment costs. How sustainable is that for the timescales mentioned in the article?
I certainly think that our school system has a lot to answer for, we're constantly being told that free from the EU and trading on WTO we can be like countries where the general population has a lower standard of living, but the rulers are insanely rich in comparison.
Is that what people voted for?0 -
Another Brexit Bonus..........for Dublin
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-47060676
QUOTE
The bank's Dublin operation is expected to double in size to 300 people as a result of the business being channelled though the Irish capital.
END QUOTEThere will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
Those darn foreigners from the WTO imposing laws on our sovereign parliament. When do we get to vote to leave the WTO?
Smaller countries have to pick their battles more carefully, but also have to hold their nerve when bigger trade associations want to throw their weight around. Like the UK is doing now with the EU 27. Not.0 -
Trump is already threatening to detach from the WTO. Because the USA is one if the few countries big enough/with the clout to consider it and go for a series of bilateral deals instead.
Smaller countries have to pick their battles more carefully, but also have to hold their nerve when bigger trade associations want to throw their weight around. Like the UK is doing now with the EU 27. Not.
Which will be good for the US but will steamroll all the smaller nations. Just like the WTO was intended to prevent. There's no tribunal process outside of the WTO or anything like the most favoured nation clause to ensure fairness.
In a no rules trade negotiation between the US and the UK, who do you think is going to come out on top?0
