There's definitely an effort from May and co to place the blame for everything on the EU - this last attempt to go back to the table and renegotiate something that's not open for renegotiation again. Instead of going "Well, we know this is a waste of time because we already agreed on it", she's framing it as "Look at the EU being intransigent!".

Leavers over the last 2.5 years have been blaming everyone for Brexit going so badly - the EU, Remainers for holding them back and not being patriotic enough. The only thing that'll happen after we leave is that Leavers will deny having voted leave, whilst still blaming everyone but Leave. It's quite a common phenomenon with restrospective polling on elections - if it goes badly suddenly no-one voted for it.

I wear my leave voter status as a badge of honour and I have a gut feeling that they’ll be erecting statues in our honour in the not too distant future. :)

    That’s not a statue that’s a burning effigy. :)
There’s a lot of that sort of stuff on mainland Europe though, Merkel in Greece, Rajoy in Catalonia and Macron in his own country most weekends.
I’m not sure us Brits do that sort of thing, it’ll be more of a slightly peeved letter to the Times letters page type thing. :)

Populism meets the real world and is dying a slow death.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Staying in would benefit your children more than leaving. This whole "I have experience" argument is a red herring. You have a lot of irrelevant experience because its of the past. As you get older you become resistant to change and you want to take control to avoid that change. Young people aren't encumbered by that and would have prospered more with a deeper relationship with an ever growing eu

How can the older people be resistant to change when that is allegedly what they voted for.

Surely experience of the past is what makes people decide on the future, it is notable that people of age who you claim voted leave recall things like the wars etc, and yet you claim the eu has prevented war (it was not the eu, it was things like the UN and NATO), you can't believe a word that comes out of the eu considering Antonio Tajani claimed that the eu defeated the Nazis.

You can't dismiss the past as it is the past that shapes the future.

It strikes me that you are the one that is afraid of change.

Any Job losses or GDP in ROI will be inflicted BY THE ACTIONS of the UK.

Oh, forgive us for daring to leave the EU. The RoI economy would only suffer as a consequence of Brexit through the EU's intransigence over the border issue.

Interesting article on the non-exodus of banks and financial services from London to mainland Europe.
Apparently the Americans especially view Paris as culturally French, Frankfurt as culturally German. London however is viewed as unabashedly international. Thanks to Brexit, the world awaits.

It seems to be inferring the move based on job adverts, but admits that it can't tell anything about the number of moved jobs. It's also sort of useless in that there's no guarantee that there's a 1:1 ratio between advert and vacancy; 1 ad could be for 1 staff member, another for 1,000 staff members.

It does show, however, thank London banks are still recruiting for posts within the UK.
