So why are you pushing brexit as the only way to prevent upsetting the people?

A 2nd referendum would solve this; it's give MPs a mandate to actually do something.

I think that will solve nothing and cause more problems.

We'll topple over the cliff. The impression I got from some people who work in Brussels (in a capacity for the UK) and deal with counterparts in the EC on a daily basis. Is that they are fed up with the situation. They've better things to do with their time. As a consequence it'll be the EU that will put a time limit on proceedings. Forcing the UK to arrive at a decision. Nor do they expect further extended negotiations. The final offer is on the table.

It seems to be entirely in EUs hands and far from a forgone conclusion that they will agree to a extension, unless we withdraw article 50.

So it's still still a majority!

And in a democratic society that didn't stipulate greater than 60% or 70% the simple majority wins.

Until the next vote. We hold votes all the time for the same thing, this idea that you can only ever vote for one thing once was made by a liar.

We should have another referendum to go no deal brexit, or cancel 2016 referendum.

Let the people decide. I want to know there is a majority for a known outcome. Theresa Mays deal isn't a known outcome, it just kicks the can down the road for another couple of years.

All we need is a six month extension to brexit, hold the referendum almost immediately. Giving business a small amount of time to shutdown and relocate if we vote to leave on terms they can't live with.

I think I've heard this idea before... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3rX4nJ0snc

I wonder what happened to that more sense?

For what purpose. An extension in itself doesn't change anything. Suspect Corbyn is going to look very stupid in the coming weeks.

We can't organise a referendum to happen before brexit day, it has to be extended.

It would also seem like a good idea to make the decision to leave on WTO terms and then give ourselves enough chance to actually be ready to handle that. Obviously not completely, but even if it's just time to write down what we're going to do so that employees at ports etc have a clue what they are supposed to be doing.

Even if we leave it in the hands of the elite to decide our future, they need more time. An extension is required no matter what we do, of course the EU may not grant us one if we continue to act with such bad faith.

Jeremy Corbyn looks very stupid or not all the time based on your opinion, don't believe for one second that everyone shares that opinion. IMO he has played his hand quite well so far, much better than Theresa May.

The conservatives time may very well be up, as they've been in power coming up to 9 years.

How so? If it presents a clear majority for something (be it no deal, Mays or no brexit) it at least gives the MPs something to work on and say "We've honoured the will of the people". Those who feel robbed will be upset, sure, but everyone else will be happy.

EU elections are in May, Spain has threatened to veto an extension, nowhere else seems keen to extend. I really think they are just going to leave us to this one. What's extending going to achieve anyway? May has no clue, no plan and no majority. If only she hadn't called that snap election, she wouldn't be beholden to the ERG.

I think the only way we'll see an extension to A50 is if it's to hold a 2nd referendum or a change in leadership (they seem a lot more optimistic about Corbyns approach). We're not going to get it so we can spend another 6 months getting nothing done, we need to come up to our deadline for our 11th hour negotiations to start.

Oh yeah, it's Corbyn that's coming out badly from this alright!

But what if very likely it's very close as it probably will be.

Not sure what EU will do.

BBC seem to think that mays deal will get through on 3rd or 4th attempt.
