Lost a post, first time in a long time! Jus sympathising with the smell thing really, and the (non) control of weeds. Hope your next smello-experiment works!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

No joy in tracking down the source of the smell in the kitchen though its weirdly not quite as strong a whiff today
The positive is that I have a cleaner kitchen and have decluttered 5 cookery books and other assorted bits and pieces.
Trip to a farm shop in a nearby village this morning, it also has a PO so posted some cards and paid in work money. Very cold today despite the sun being out there is a really chilly wind so was glad I had my gloves and hat in my bag.
I emailed OnePoll y'day as been stuck at 5p away from cash out since Monday. They added the 5p on manually so have been able to claim the £25. Nothing on Prolific for a few days now. The money from OH's CDs has now arrived from the 3 different sites I sold to so I've transferred that to the TSB account which is my emergency fund. Shuffled the money around to get interest and 'reward'.
Lovely surprise this morning as friend I've not seen since we moved from down south emailed to say she would be in this neck of the woods tomorrow and would like to meet up for a few hours.
Am off to roast some veg to have with my tea and to procrastinate over the housework that needs doing0 -
There is nothing worse than a mysterious smell....I was going to suggest a rotten potato. They stink but see you have already checked that. It is not the drains is it...our plug holes sometimes smell.
The weather is deceptive today ...bright sunshine with a bitter wind.
Enjoy your catch up with your friendx0 -

TSB reward going down to 3% from June I think
Yes the interest rate goes down on 2nd July from 5% to 3% on the Cl@ssic Plus acct which is the one I've got. 3% is still better than a lot of accounts though and I'm building up the balance. The reward on my H@lifax Acct is only £2 monthly now, used to be £5
The interest rate on on S@ntander 123 also decreased - bah humbug is all :mad:0 -

Thanks BusyMee, yes rotting tatties have a horrible smell . I don't think its the drain, I put some bleach down the plug hole when the smell started but as I can't track it down have put some soda crystals and hot water down and will do that again before bed.0 -
I've had mysterious kitchen smells - horrible things. One time it was rotting potatoes, and another time it was something meat-based in the bin, and the smell got better once I emptied the bin.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Had a good day with my friend y'day. We worked out that it must be close to 20 years since we've physically met up but its one of those relationships where that doesn't seem to matter
.
She'd not been to the city before so we walked round to have a look at some of the sights. This involved several very steep hills which I would have been in too much pain to tackle pre surgeries but am pleased to say I managed both the up and down well if slowly  Lovely friend bought lunch and I got the coffees before she headed off on the train.
Thought I might be a bit stiff today but am fine. Its really cold and windy again today so not sure if I'll venture out, was thinking of checking out the garden centre but nothing urgent.
On the agenda today is cleaning the inside of the windows in the living room. Small people with sticky fingers have left their marks :rotfl: The floors also need washing so will try and do that too. Am also hoping to make some fishcakes as I have everything in for that. Cuppa calling first though.0 -
