Lovely weather again today. Did a bit of work online this morning - nice to not have a commute for it. Then pottered in the garden this affy. Got lots of pots and troughs ready to put in some veg seeds.
Another online sale today so will pack that up and post it tomorrow when I go to work.0 -
Worked yesterday, looks like there is a possibility of a few more hours at one of the places I do sessional work in but it will be a wee while before that happens. Had a gap until next bit of work so went for a coffee and scone in JL as I had a voucher that was about to run out.
Washing done and hung out in the garden, sadly the weather changed and has gone a bit misty and chilly so the washing is not much drier than it was when I put it out
I cashed out £24+ on Prolific via Circle, was really quick and money in my account within 2 hours. Paid in the £50 cheque from NV so will make a CC payment from those 2 when the cheque clears.
I've ordered some new trainers from Am@zon using survey vouchers and a £10 credit I got when I complained about a promised delivery not arriving at Christmas. So nothing to pay and a few £ of vouchers left
Did an online order from Asd@ for Thursday evening so will be using bits and pieces from the fridge and cupboard till then. I might make parsnip soup and will have a fritatta for tea with whatever veg I can find.0 -
Lovely walk in the woods this morning with family then back for some homemade soup for lunch. Did a bit of gardening after that, a big bag of weeds pulled up and some seeds sown. Had to give up when the rain started but a reasonable amount done.
There seems to be lots of ants rushing around the rhubarb crowns - not sure what thats about, hope they don't kill them off. Not had a lot of luck with rhubarb growing, its supposed to be easy but the last lot got dug up by cats  [not mine]
Then into work for a meeting, tired now so a bit of TV watching before bed I think0 -
Well I am a numpty :eek: I was talking with a friend on the phone and she mentioned retirement and state pension and us both having not worked full time over a period due to family circumstances. We are roughly the same age, just a few months difference and I was talking about having to wait until I'm 67 to get my state pension and she said she'll get hers at 66 so surely I will too. Upshot is I'll get my pension in 2 years and one month and not 3 years as I thought. Don't know where I got that figure from but am well chuffed to know its a year nearer than I expected. I did the check up on the Gov www and used my Govt Gateway no. to log in and I'll get the full amount of pension, was a bit worried there might be a problem somewhere as I've been self employed for so long.
Very wet and cold here today so haven't managed to put the recycling out. I've got it ready so will get up a bit early tomorrow and do that. I have another load of shredded paper to get shot of.
@sda shopping delivered, I noticed when I was ordering that a few things have gone up in price again. Veg I usually buy is more expensive so have gone for different items that are cheaper. A pot of yoghurt went up 10p between me ordering and the delivery arriving . I got some tahini, I'm going to make humus as over ordered on chick peas when I checked the cupboard.0 -

Teapot, thats great news on the pension! We've had so much "stolen" from us, 6 years is enough, never mind 7!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks KC and yes it makes me so mad particularly the way it was all handled and so many women weren't even informed of the changes or the implications
I feel relieved that I've got a bit of clarity about my state pension situation now :cool:0 -
Not much to report, I worked today and got home later than usual as I had to sort out some issues with the manager where I was working and then needed to buy and post a birthday card for a friend. I finally got on a bus and halfway home they radioed the driver that we had to change buses for some never explained reason so that involved more waiting about. Still I did get lots of my book read and did a YouGov survey too.
Its gone very cold here, the forecast is suggesting we won't get above 7 degrees for most of the week which is not great. Today there were hailstones and a bit of sleet so glad I still had my big jacket on.
Had a quick look at my @sda order when I was online [they no longer give out a printed copy when its delivered which is fine by me] Glad I checked it as realised the bottle of oil was missing from the order so I've requested a refund on that.
Made a yummy paneer, spinach and cashew curry for tea. Got enough left to make it again over the weekend.
Seems to be spider season again in the house, been a few scuttling around - big ones too :eek:0 -
