It's foggy here too now - not very, but enough so that everything looks very bleak, unfortunately. As long as it doesn't rain while I'm taking things out to my sister's car, I don't mind
Your family time sounds great. My wild garlic has now naturalised in my garden, but I've yet to make anything from it. I'm glad it tastes so good though.
Thanks KC, I'm just a bit nervous of breathing on anyone after the garlic pesto - its deffo a little to go a long way :eek:0 -
Looked after my 18 month old GN for a few hours today, she's a sweetie but full on
have put the house together again and big old furry boy has emerged from his high perch
Need another 5p to cashout on OP, previous experience suggests that it will take a couple of days to be offered another survey when I'm so close but hopefully it'll be this week. Cashed in a £20 voucher for L@keland as well as there a few things I'd like to get, not that £20 gets much at LL.
Meter readings have been sent. My DD goes down from £93 to £56 this month which helps. Got a pending online sale so hoping that'll convert maybe overnight. Really chilly here tonight so wonder if it'll be frosty in the morning0 -
Chilly this morning, ice crystals on the bird bath but the sun came out later on and it was warmer by the afternoon. Ventured out to post an online sale and pay in some work cash. Got my new glasses tightened as they keep moving down my nose however it doesn't seem to have made much difference so might have to go back again.
Did some weeding when I got home, there's loads to pull out but its a start. Had an online shop delivered and thats all put away.
Had a Pinecone survey paid out but will wait for another one to redeem it. Am still 5p away from cashing out on OP.
There is a nasty smell in my kitchen and I can't work out what it isI've emptied and disinfected the pedal and food bin. Wiped down all the surfaces with a cleaner, sniffed in all the cupboards and inspected everything in the fridge. I have no idea what it is :eek:

Teapot2, I have happened upon your diary and had a read. I just wanted to say I'm so very sorry about your OH. Cancer is such a cruel illness.
Re the nasty smell, have you pulled out the fridge to see if anything's gone under and gone off? My mum had similar in her garage, turned out that somehow, a bag of frozen broccoli had fallen between the side of the freezer and wall and gone fully rancid. It was practically all liquid when I found it
You sound very savvy in the way you do things! :money:0 -
Good luck with finding that smell - that's always horrible.
I'm joining you on the weeding, proper weeding not navvying - it's comparatively enjoyable :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hello Bachsoon :wave:thanks for reading and your kind words, yes indeed cancer is very cruel.
My plan for today when I got in from work was to pull out the fridge but when I did there was nothing under it so thats not where the smell is coming from. I bet the bag of broccoli was well minging when you found it
Not sure I'm all that money savvy, at times I seem to hemorrhage money and coffee and scones are my downfall if I'm out and about0 -

Thanks KC, I'll bet the weeding is much lighter work  I've got lots of weeds growing up through the chips laid in the front. There is a weed suppressant layer but the jackdaws pull chunks out of it at nesting timeIts also rolled up a bit at the edges so weeds grow there too and plants have sell seeded in those areas and whereas I could dig them out of soil, its trickier to get the blighters out from the stones.

Bad smell update; got in from work around 5 so after a cuppa I emptied the cupboard where I keep the tatties and onions in case something had escaped and was rotting away - no culprit to be found. I did find some out of date cough mixture and flour that was use by 2015  As you can tell, I don't go through the cupboards very often.
I then pulled out the fridge freezer but nothing under there apart from a few cobwebs and what looks like a few mouse droppings. Haven't had any other signs of mouse visitors in recent years though and big old furry boy is good at mousing.
So am none the wiser as to the odour source. My next plan is to move all the cookery books off the worktop in case theres anything lurking around there though I think that might be clutching at straws.
I may become obsessed with this.............. :rotfl:0
