Has anyone ever stayed in places like Circus Circus, Excalibur or the Strat?
They are just so cheap and I’m so desperate to go bk, I’m thinking you only sleep there and they must be safer than motels? Would you not recommend? Tia xx

I have stayed in both CC ( not the manor lodge) and the Strat, I would stay at either again if I had to but would prefer a more central location. why do you think they may be unsafe.
  • This is probably a silly question but if you don't ask you never find out anything.

If i was going to Vegas with some mates for 6/7 nights and we booked everything early (i like to get things planned as early as possible) in standard rooms at MGM could i use some of MyVegas rewards to get comp room at Signature (leaving my room mate in the standard room alone) and if so could i get more than 1 of the comp rewards and use it for a longer part of the trip?
I have seen they do 2 night comp, can you get more than 1 of the same reward?

I wouldn't want to risk not getting the comp room so would like to know I had somewhere to sleep if i didn't get the comp, I know you can only use 3 rewards per month. As much as i love my mates i don't really fancy sharing a bed with them and the Signature only seems to have rooms with 1 bed in.

Finally, if you do get a comp room through MyVegas do you have to pay resort fee on it?

Pedrobandito, you can only use one free room reward in 30 days. So best to use a reward for 2 comp nights if there is availability. Any myvegas comp nights I have redeemed require payment of resort fees.

If you haven't already, I would suggest joining this group on FB (hope it's allowed, apologies if not and hope I don't get banned after 15 years on here)

READ the Announcements as it has all the info you need.

This year you need to have spent on the game to see the 2 night comps. Last year we both got 2 nights at the Vdara with no spend. Only resort fees to pay.

We stayed at CC in 2006. It was clean, didn't smell (unlike the Riveria, that was a dump) and was just right for our budget. Best bit was 'Elsa Clown' who appeared on the telly advertising the shops & eats (it's on Youtube and is a must see)
BUT, you have to make sure that you book the main hotel, as there is a section (think it's called Manor Lodge) that is a bit away from the hotel, and is connected by a bridge. It is used by those who have trailers/caravans, and is a bit, well, it's not very nice.
Don't be put off by that bit though. CC itself is ok for what it is. The casino is a bit run down, but for some reason, it's always kind to us, and the places to eat there are actually okay. It can be full of folks & their children because of the fairground atmosphere, and the theme park at the back. It's funny to see them carrying huge stuffed toys around :rotfl:
If you just want somewhere to lay your head, it's perfectly fine. The reason it's a bit out of the way, is that the hotels that were near it, like Westward Ho, the Stardust, & Desert Inn are now all gone. And you'd be fine walking from there to the Strat & SLS. We've done it loads of times and always felt okay. We've only been offered herbal tobacco once along there. :D
    HTH
The car park is free too.
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j
  • Thanks Stevie11, i thought it was probably too easy to comp the whole trip :)

I can't remember if I posted that I eventually booked flights to Los Angeles along with a car. So we're definitely going.

Today we both redeemed on myVegas for 2 comp nights at Signature, and have now got that booked for our last 4 nights in Vegas. We will then drive to Long Beach and have a room booked via priceline (saving £74!) at Westin Long Beach.

Now, to get on with booking the first 9 nights. Thinking 2 nights Los Angeles (possibly Culver City), one night Palm Springs (anyone been?), 2 or 3 nights at Red Rock, and 3 or 4 nights at Tuscany. This is before moving to Signature which I already booked. It's shaping up a bit at least. Labor day weekend in LA and Palm Springs looking quite expensive.

Another vote for Imgur here. I keep getting email from Photobucket that I have gone over my allowance but I haven't been on the site for years. I need to get my butt in order and copy or download what little is on there before they stop access, if they haven't already.
