OMG Pink I hope your DS1 makes a full recovery very soon. I'd call him your "little one" but since he's over six foot tall despite being 13 it's not quite accurate...

Today has been a day of inertia. I haven't crossed the threshold. Highlight of the day was feeding the cats. House is a tip (it is always a tip but I mean it this time) but I have been enjoying a "chick lit" novel today. I might summon a little energy to put the washing machine on, in a minute.

Tru - sympathy to you. I wish I could advise on how to persuade your OH to change his ways. Don't give in.

Blairweech - I agree with Twink, nothing but pasties for your OH until they run out. In fact "treat" him to at least three per meal. Do Mr Blairweech and Mr Tru know each other, possibly even related?? (Hate to say it but I am especially glad to be single when I hear of this selfish behaviour from some ladies' husbands).

Catowen, well done on your winning the lappy. I think if I were in a similar position I'd try to win another one too so that the littlies have one each, thus avoiding arguments. Or perhaps you could get them to draw up some sort of agreement between them BEFORE you give them the lappy so that you can wave it at them when/if they fall out over it. Whatever happens, I hope you get another lappy v.v.soon.

    hi

just popped in quickly to say, pink, sending you positive vibes and I am sure that ds1 will be as right as rain very soon xxxxxx

ohh, and tru, I know how you feel, last year after I finished 3 long hard years at uni, doing placement as well as studying full time and my dad dying in July. I felt like you did, I got a job because the pressure was on to repay student loans etc. After 4 weeks and lots of night shifts from hell, I quit:eek: Now bear in mind I have been working since I was 13, and I am now 44  So its a long time and I just needed some me time, I had 3 months off and I had all the jibes from dh and family. After that I found a job when I was good and ready and now I am totally settled at work and its a much better paid than the other one, plus the team I work with are fab.

Don't feel guilty, everyone needs me time after all those years you have worked you deserve it :T

Hugs and best wishes to Master Pink - what a worry

Glad to be single too sometimes but dd is taking the place of any annoyng OH at the moment. Having wedged me up in the week for some babysititng she asked if i could look after dgs this am so she could go see her friend again in the hospital. Got there at the appointed time and found her still in bed!!!!!! waited an hour for her to get ready and then she realises that it's only family allowed until later tonight - ended up staying there till 5pm. Have made up for feeling very disgruntled by having a glass of wine and watching cassablanca dvd for the umpteenth time - s*d the cleaning - I'm having somr me time too.
As little veggie dd is at her dad's I made a proper roast dinner last night with some free range chicken and have just eaten the leftovers - I could never go veggie again - daddy weekends are such a meaty treat for me.

Actually i did spend some of the time with dd shopping for an outfit for tomorrow night. A friend has got married and it's the reception tomorrow. Will only be able to stay for a couple of hours till dd gets back but the friend is asian and so there have been different things going on all week and I haven't been able to get to any of them so I must go. Shopping very frustrating - i hate clothes really and rarely buy new. dd and her friend were trying to be trinny and susannah but it was no good and I came away empty handed. I have agorgeous sari but no-one to put me in it properly and then I remembered a punjabi suit that someone gave me. Its very shiny and a bit over the top so I might just wear the top with leggings or trousers and boots.

hmmm what now - clean the loo or Gone With The Wind and some knitting - that's a no-brainer
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Pink - big (((hugs))) for you and DS - hope he recovers very quickly

Have speed read the thread so more (((hugs))) to anyone else who needs one.

Had a nice day in Belgium, got loads of Xmas stuff, day slightly marred by the fact we were done for speeding on the way home. Oh well it was a fair cop as they say.

Tomorrow have loads of washing and ironing to do but think may only do what is desperatly needed and chill.

Off to bed soon, I know its only 8.30 but feels much later.

  • I hope Master Pink is on the mend quickly too -kids are just one long worry aren't they ? bless 'em.

I like your choice of films Stefejb, I wish my OH would let me watch stuff like that, especially if it is black and white:rolleyes: mind you we have generally very similar tastes in films.
