  • Morning :hello:

I was kept up late last night by some very talkative oldstylers on MSN - you know who you are :naughty:

I'm off to the opera this evening. I already saw the show once on a free ticket (as I was reviewing it) but I really enjoyed it and fancied seeing it again. Also there are a couple of the singers who I know and haven't seen for ages, so am hoping to catch up with them tonight after the show... (they had a cast party the other night, so I didn't get to speak to them).

    donny-gal HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
smokeybabe glad DH's op is now on the horizon :)

Right, must nip out for a newspaper then go for a swim...

    Love Rzl xx

    Hello all,

I am so glad the thread is chipper this morning - it has cheered me up because I feel awful! Every part of my body hurts, I feel like I've been hit by a truck . I thought I'd done myself a major mischief last night - as I lay down to sleep, a real blinding pain seared down the left side of my body. It hurt so much at first I couldn't even cry out. It subsided to a dull ache after about 10 minutes, dunno what it was. I might think about going to the doctor soon, before I fall to bits! :)

Think OH is dropping some bits off in Somerset today, so I will pop and see my Mum. I really wanted to go into Taunton to do some Xmas shopping, but I think we'll be a bit late. Hopefully we'll get fed at my parents.
So, I am just doing a few bits of ironing and stuff in the meantime.

Oh and the path we bought yesterday - its going back.

    Have a good one

    Hello all,

just finished lunch (soup and crusty bread - yum) and am going to make my first cuppa of the day when I finish typing this. Was up early this morning to go and collect a parcel, so now have my birthday/christmas present from my OH - very dinky digital camera :j The battery is getting charged now, but had a quick try when we had a little bit of charge in the battery and it looks great! Going to take lots more pics now - twink and kyle: be warned! :D

Being up early does mean I've got more done this morning than usual, so will be able to try and get some more sewing done today. It's going to be chicken casserole for tea so minimum amount of prep. needed which is great. Will stick the WM on, but it looks like it's going to start raining again so won't be going out and digging any more in the back garden.

*Hugs* to all, take or leave as you please - have a good day everyone :D

    Hi!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

    So far today...
I've helped to clean up the churchyard
    taken DD1 to orchestra
DH has fixed part of the floor in church
made bacon and croissants for lunch
made a pan of sausage and veg chilli for tea

    I'm going to...
make some corn bread to go with the chilli
    get my hair done
relax and fall asleep on the couch! :D

DD2 is feeling much better today and is making a castle with DH using a selection of toilet roll insides, shoe boxes and tape, I think he'd rather be dozing in front of the TV but he's being a good dad instead. I'll let him have a doze later! :rotfl:
    Have a good day!

Blairweech...that doesn't sound right at all. Please please please would you give NHS Direct a ring and have a chat with them about it.

HariboJunkie I was only joking about your pants...promise!! You have been here but didn't say anything, hope you're not upset. Sorry!!

Shez - I went back to bed after my first post...
  • Afternoon everybody:)

Gingham I'm glad you've had a bit of me-time (or should that be you-time) being a mum to little ones is totally knackering, and to do the job properly you need to look after yourself. It does get easier though honestly. Penelope Penguin -what a star ;)

So far today I've made 4 loaves of oatmeal bread, a huge vat of leek and potato soup and 18 fairy cakes iced in neon pink and orange which I can't eat as they are just too sweet (a good thing as I eat too many of my home bakes). I was inspired to make the cakes by the ones on this blog. I'm waiting for the postman to bring my copy of her book.

Supper tonight will be a big bowl of spaghetti with a tomatoey chorizo sauce and fairy cakes for pud.

Thriftlady - I have this book. I love the yarnstorm blog (being a knitting knut). It gives a lovely warm glow to think there are others who enjoy the things I do. (Including Cary Grant!)

    Enjoy it.

FOR GODS SAKE!!!!! OH has just been to Ginsters and bought them out of pasties yet again. The same pasties that we already have a freezer full of. So now I have to find room for another 100+ pasties in a freezer thats crammed full AS WELL as finding room for the soup I made that he hasn't eaten because he prefers rubbish from Ginsters. He just p1$$es money away and then says its my fault we can't afford things because I'm not working atm.

It's great isn't it ?:) She loves many of the same things as me too -not Cary Grant so much, but crochet, baking, quinces and the same painters as me. I've left a comment on her latest post- I'm Sue and it's the one about Milly Molly Mandy ! Ooh I wish my book would arrive, Amazon dispatched it on Thursday, where is it ?
