Good Morning Everyone - though judging by the time the thread was started some of you must be on the lunch break by now!
Glad to hear your DH is now fit for his op Smoky - hope it comes through quickly now.
Ausisielass, thanks for extending my vocabulary! Windows,Churchmouse? I thought they were like ovens, you know, self-cleaning! Bit like my specs, I'm always amazed at how much clearer the world seems when I clean them!
Have guests for lunch tomorrow, between church services (extra due to Remembrance Day) so need to find the dining table surface at some point today, clean the livingroom, kitchen, cloakroom....get the picture? What a slob I've become these days. Ah well, WM is nearly done, BM is on and I've made a start on clearing the kitchen a bit. Have fun folks - and (((HUGS))) to all who need one today.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
Morning
I was going to ride my bike to the bank - I didn't get to the office til about 5pm yesterday, some invoices have been paid and the bank was closed by then - but it's really windy and I can't be bothered so I'll go on monday instead
The reason I didn't get to the office til 5pm is that we had a heating engineer out to look at our boiler. He's 95% sure it's the ignition switch (I think that's what he said), our boiler is a Jaguar - only Jag I'll ever own lol - which is a complete nightmare for parts, only one place in Gloucester sells them so of course they charge a fortune  It's £95 + VAT. If it's not the switch then it's the PCB, that's around £200  Then there's the call-out, £55. We only paid £520 for the boiler 2 years ago  I'll be frantically trying to sell more cards over the next couple of weeks to try and pay for it :rotfl:
I managed to get most things done yesterday, just the hoovering and cake-making to do today. I couldn't go to my usual shops cos they were closed by the time we left the house so I relented and went to Tesco - value butter was 85p  Time to get my own cow I thinkBulletproof0 -

Rediculous time to start the post! Ooo Green eyed monster, :rotfl:
All is well here. windy and cold this morning. I don't have to do any taxi runs to day as none of my kids are working this morning. So it will be very leisurely around here. Might pick up the paper later and then make fresh poached egg, from eggs my chickens laid this morning.
Daughter is going to a B day party this afternoon and then we have freinds over for tea, so I think it will be a reasonable day today.
Did anyone watch TV last night. I have SKY and in all the chanels there was nothing I wanted to watch... It was useless. I had a nice fire in the hearth and no TV to enjoy..... But pants. Hope they weren't Haribo's she;s only got the one pair.
Well folks have a nice day,
Morning everyone
Haribo, that is a lovely picture of Aussie, very flattering and just how I remember her.
Churchie, congrats on cleaning your windows. It's like getting an hour's extra daylight when the grime is removed, apparently. Not that I am speaking from personal experience of course. Did you use Haribo's old pants to do the polishing? If you'd fallen off your ladder they could have doubled as a parachute:rotfl::rotfl:;).
Smoky, lovely to hear from you again, especially when it looks like long term things are getting better. Your OH does sound v.v.fed up - hopefully the op will happen sooner rather than later.
Happy chauffering Penelope P. Maybe you could take it up professionally, sounds like you'd hardly notice the difference...
Actually, I think I might be able to produce a few more zzzzzzz now. Have a fantastic Saturday everyone.

Good morning all, Saturday again - I just love them :j
Surprised to wake up and see it's dry and bright outside, so the wm is on and I'm in a working mood. Going to clean the house from top to bottom this morning - I hope !
This afternoon I will visit Mum and Dad and may go to Lidl and Matalan afterwards.
Lunch will be cheese salad sandwiches, dinner will be hm meatballs in tomato sauce with spaghetti, then hm apple crumble (from the freezer) and ice cream. I can't believe how much food is in my freezer, I keep using it hoping to make room for xmas meat and goodies but it still seems as full as ever.
After 10 months of constant worry and phone calls my roof and chimney were finally repaired on Wednesday. It's great knowing the house is watertight now before Winter comes.
Have a great day everyone !Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Morning everyone
Hope you are ok and those who aren't feel better soon.
Its a bit grey and windy here on the Kent coast. Been awake since 06.30 but was determined not to get up until 7am. Slept like a log last night, think it was all the night shifts and getting up at 4am to write my essay that did it.
MOLIERE did put in about recipie for home made moisturiser, but don't know how to pm yet. Also there are loads of recipies if you google.
AUSSIE love the pipe!
Bread is in breadmaker. OH taking me out to Thai resturant tonight, we have some time off together. Plan today to clean my disgusting house. Also washing, got everything dry yesterday. Ecover laundry bleach is fantastic as is borax, so impressed with the colour of my washing!
Off to put mayonnaise on my hair. Have a lovely day everyone. :A0 -
Morning Everyone
:hello: :hello: :hello: to fellow members of the *we like to be mentioned clique* - Pen-Pen - isn't that all of us?
:grouphug:Amie - Hope you feel up to be being back with us soon.:grouphug:
Smokybabe - so glad things are moving forward for you and your DH.
:eek:Ouch! Tru - So glad I took out the £15 a month British Gas Boiler and Radiator cover last year. I know it works out to £180 a year, but it does include an annual service, and I had a cut-out problem early this year, so think so far I am winning, and it doesn't hit me in one lump.
No time for TV yesterday, apart from being told here you were having terrible weather on the east coast, with flooding:eek: . Hope you are all OK, don't want to go back there again! After getting a load of washing, we went out for the day, well what was left of it just before lunch. We decided to follow a route of the castles in the guide book. Drove through the mountains, got lost in the middle of a small town with no road signs to get us out:cool: ! Found the first one (eventually) at Novelda, with a triangular tower built by the Christian, which you could climb up (great views) and the older Moorish quadrangle tower, which was not safe to climb. With it was a "santuary" chuch dedicated to Mary Magdalen(a) They unfortunately have to lock the castle and the santuary up when no one is there, and we just caught the lady who looks after it just before she disappeared for her lunch, so she was telling us about them both. Her with only Spanish and me being the only one with any Spanish, with my most spoken word being slowly, speak slowly. What a laugh but done with so much smiling and laughter it was great, and very good for me to make my brain work (When I found it)! Maybe got only 5% of the words but got the gist I think. Carried on seeing some others from the route eventually found somewhere for a menu del dia (meal of the day. with 4 choices per course) at around 3.45 pm. 3 courses for 8€ including water and bread. Carried on to Villena, as this was advised as one of the best preserved castles, but it only opened in mornings, so after a stroll around the base, back home. http://www.comunitatvalenciana.com/descargas/vinalopo_en.pdf shows most of the route and a picture of the santuary.
When we got back I had to go and organised the night out on Sunday to celebrate our 34th WA today, going down to a local bar/restaurant with a group on. Just by co-incidence they have a Hog Roast on then too, and we have the choice of that or the full menu. 19 of us sitting down to eat, on one floor level for the restaurant, and a table for around 25 in the lower level for the group. Then we went down to the bar to book the tables and do the quiz. No we didnt win. Came home around 11.30, it was really warm for the time of year so sat outside eating cheese and biscuits and playing a card game until after 1 pm. Today it is pouring this morning. Really weird.
Ah well DH and one of friends have now awoken, so better go and be sociable.
Take Care

Morning everyone
DH has gone to work (overtime but not paid till Xmas Eve  ), DD is going shopping with MIL shortly and that means I have the house [STRIKE]bombsite[/STRIKE] to myself
Need to completely sort it out today, want to do a bit more of my Santa, need to do loads of washing and ironing, want to list some things on ebay, need to make a quiche, some mini calzones and a shepherd pie for the freezer. Does anyone know if I make a quiche and cut into portions and freeze - will I just be able to take portion sizes out and defrost for lunchesor will they need heating up first?
Anyway need to chivvy DD along as she's not dressed yet and stick the first load in the WM and some dough in the BM for bread rolls.
Have a great day everyoneSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
