Good morning everyone! I have been to bed, and I'm still here. Can't sleep, so thought I'd let N9eav have a lie in
Swimming and football this morning. DS has an away match, in the next village. DD has a party in the evening and a sleepover, so some taxiing will be required.
We went to see Stardust at the cinema last night - great film (thanks Shez  ). lots of great British stars, so it' on my DVD list to see again.
:hello: :hello: :hello: to fellow members of the *we like to be mentioned clique* (you know who you are
)
Haribo - is that a Santa hat you're wearing
Hello, ChurchMouse - can you see us better through your nice clean windows
Twink - snow!!!!!
Catch you all later, Penny. x

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Hi Penny! Well I was going to mention to anybody who was unaware, that clean glass is actually see-through:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Now Haribo will get an even better view when she comes to wake me in the morning.:D (just don't mention the curtains which could do with a launder sshhhh. I did wash the nets, I know, i know, but we are overlooked:o )
The weather forecast for tomorrow seems quite good for London, so I'm thinking more garden tidying?Let's wait and see how cold it is:rolleyes:
Ordered some more chrissie presents today, from Boots, so third one was free:D I love that price..... free, free, free, just see how easily it slips off the tongue;) As long as they don't email me tomorrow to say half of it is out of stock, which is what M&S did after I trawled through their site ordering sale items:mad: I have the teeniest inkling that I may, for the first time in my life be organised a bit earlier for Christmas. But don't tempt providence by saying it out loud;)
I really shouldn't be replying now as I've not been to bed, but I will go shortly:D
Catch up later, once the birdies have risen.
CMxxYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Good morning everyone,
Just had my smoko and about to do some garden work. It looks like rain again so we might get showers after lunch. I plan to do some Xmas card writing if it rains. I usually get the overseas ones sorted in November. The others later on. XDIL has taken DGS under firm hinting from Ninnyoff to the park for play seeing as it's rained most of the week. He can burn up some energy.
Off to Mass tonight. The times have changed again due to the new timetable so I have to leave just after 4pm. I get back at 5.30pm. Will be ok in winter but not in summer. Well I better make tracks. Hope you all have a lovely day. ByeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all,
Penny, I'm glad you enjoyed the film.
Churchmouse, have fun in the garden.
meanmarie, sleep well.
Aussie, your smoko??? I have an image of you squatting in the bush, enjoying a late afternoon puff on your pipe. Please tell me I'm wrong and it's just got lost in the translation.
Haribo is wearing a Christmas hat????? For the second time this week that little minx's pants are on fire........she told me earlier today that she was dreading Christmas and had nothing organised!
I was working this evening so I'm still a live wire and have no notion of sleep. Ds1 is still ill. I won't bore you with the gorey details but I think I may have to call the out of hours doctor later today. None of us have been ill for months and this last couple of weeks we've been going down like flies!
No plans for an early start in the morning, but the best laid plans and all that... I need to do some grocery shopping and all being well I might do some batch cooking in the afternoon.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone (just) :hello:
Aussie...thanks for sending me the the picture of you enjoying your smoko.
Penny.... Yes it is a Santa hat but the message conveys my true sentiment.
Churchmouse.... Thankyou for cleaning the windows....I will try not to write any rude messages in my breath on them this morning. And can you move that old mattress in your back garden cos I'm forever tripping over it.
Pink.....Hugs to DS1....and stop telling everyone about my pants.... Aussie might try to smoke them too.
Hope everyone is warm especially Twink and Kyle.
Well I HAVE been to bed. Was shattered after my day in the kitchen so went to bed at 7.30. Stupid idea though cos I'm wide awake now. Going to go into the office today to catch up on some paperwork.
Left over Chorizo and bean soup for lunch (it was yummy) and sausage rolls, chips and beans for tea.
Freezer is now fit to burst so once I do some more baking on Sunday I should have an easy week cooking wise.
Have a good day all

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all well and you will have to forgive me but I have only popped in once in the last couple of weeks and so have no real idea of how you are all doing. GOOD I hope!!
OH's infection has finally cleared up and he has been to Manchester and they say he needs the op within the next 3 months - consent form is signed, tests done and now we await a date. Both our works have been brill  :T :T :T His has his job open until he is ready and mine has let me save 4 and a half weeks hol to use as and when so the mortgage is going to be paid whilst I am off with him he first few weeks. MRI have also offered up a room at £12 per night during his op and I have my wonderful sister on standby to take care of the two eldest and LO can come with me.
OS wise, well............. The finances are a little     due to OH's need to get the house rightbefore the op. Currently the CLEARED OD is now running at £700+ odd but hey-ho it is something he feels he needs to do and given how down he is I am willing to let him get on and worry about it later. (Well I have so far resisted the urge to kill him anyway :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )
We are making good use of the SC and the breadmaker and I am keeping the shopping down as low as I can. The sloe gin under the stairs is looking nice and red (both samples for my experiment) and I am chasing down some more demi johns and recepies having recently tasted pear and banana wine from another OS addict at work- WOW - and that applies to the hangover too.unfortunately :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
to everyone who wants/needs one - and the rest of you too,
Speak soon.

Pink http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoko Being a non-smoker
it's the second meaning. Hope DS1 gets better soon.
Haribo Trust me, your pants are safe.
Smokeybabe I'm glad that DH has a time frame now. It's been a long haul for both of you.
Very humid out in the garden. Off to sort out lunch now. They are back from the park. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Wow, some early birds on here this morning! I've been up since about 4am - woke up and just couldn't get back to sleep. On my second cuppa now and will have a shower shortly.
SMOKY - good to hear from you and hope DH doesn't have too long a wait for the op. I'm glad you've both got such understanding employers. Good luck to you both.
I plan to do some baking and ironing this morning and maybe catch up on some knitting. I was too tired last night - DH and I had a couple of beers which just made us more tired.
Breakfast today will be porridge, lunch will be crumpets and dinner will be spag bol. I made a sausage casserole yesterday that was delicious so that will definitely go on my meal-planner should I ever get round to doing one. SIL is coming down from Surrey tomorrow for a coffee and a chat; she was the one who went straight out to Cyprus when MIL was taken ill. I'm looking forward to seeing her - she has such a sweet tooth that some of my baking will be for her!
I'm looking forward to Strictly tonight although I'll miss Lilia - not so much Dom, but Lilia is such a good dancer and her choreography is great.
Well, I think I'll go and have a shower then maybe do a bit of ironing. I don't want to wake DH too early - he was cream-crackered last night having spent all week up a ladder in the fresh air!
Have a great Saturday, everyone. See you all later.

Rediculous time to start the post!
All is well here. windy and cold this morning. I don't have to do any taxi runs to day as none of my kids are working this morning. So it will be very leisurely around here. Might pick up the paper later and then make fresh poached egg, from eggs my chickens laid this morning.
Daughter is going to a B day party this afternoon and then we have freinds over for tea, so I think it will be a reasonable day today.
Did anyone watch TV last night. I have SKY and in all the chanels there was nothing I wanted to watch... It was useless. I had a nice fire in the hearth and no TV to enjoy..... But pants.
Well folks have a nice day,NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning all
Just a quick hello from me today, as I am working all weekend so no OS for me.
Am just trying out my new laptop, am very pleased with myself that I have managed to get it up and running and connected to the internet without my brothers help.
Hugs to all then need, just off to sort out the mad cat that seems to have come home with far too much energy!!!
Love
xx0
