  • Thank you both so much for your kind words much appreciated xx

Just working from home this morning then at a training this afternoon. Will pickup the girls from after school club, home for tea before rainbows and brownies.

Should be a NSD, youngest needs some yogurts but that will be from budgeted grocery spends. I will have some soup before I leave for the training and take some fruit.

Paid extra to credit card last night I actually can’t wait for it to show on my balance as it takes in under the next hundred and it felt GOOD to make the extra payment, weirdly motivating :-).

    Have a lovely day

  • Good morning Friday,

    Wash and change youngest bedding
    Wash "Mount" laundry
    Ironing
Book The Stript tickets - DONE DONE DONE (OH is buying me it for Christmas)

    Transfer money into savings

I have lots of categories in my budget so have just been thinking how I have ensure money is transferred out of current into savings, I only have one savings account, my current account with debit card and a basic B%rclays. Not urgent but will look into. at some point.

  • Evening,

How is it nearly a month since I last posted, time is flying by. Nothing much as changed still plodding on and reading diaries every day.

Unfortunately, not much money saving as per and lots of spends as my friend visited for a few days at half term which was lovely, we tried to eat at home as much as possible but I constantly ran out of food but no wasted which was good :-) We are going to visit them during Christmas and new year.

Its going to be an expensive few weeks between now and Christmas, I have tried to break down my "entertainment" spends and budget for each occasion. I do love the social aspect of Christmas luckily I am being a hermit in November 2019 and very focused on the WW plan. I have also taken up spinning classes and loving it - I am not very good but turning up and giving it a go.

I have started the Christmas present shopping and made good inroads so happy with that but its a big chunk of my money which has left my account in one go. I have been looking at how I save for "big events, i.e. Christmas, holidays and basically ignore "rainy day savings" and save in chunks as oppose to monthly, d then it ends up half my wage goes and I am scrappy around for money during the month and avoiding temptation to use the CC. I actually have an headache thinking about it.

Soooo to mitigate next year I have opened a Christmas savings account for next year with the local credit union to save £100 from Jan 20 and I can't withdrawn it until Nov 20 so this is perfect for me.

Its my oldest's birthday in a couple of weeks, she is having a football party (I have told her its the last one now shes 8 next and had a party every year since she was 1) Her gift is already bought just need cards.

I have managed to do the party bags for less than £1 per child so happy with that in the past I have spend well over £50 buying what I can only describe as "random c**p". I haven't done that this year. We are ordering pizza's in at the party and doing a small buffet of hot dogs, snacks etc. Must get the cake too.

I have been doing some budget planning for next year which includes savings as a priority and paying off CC asap.

The girls school photos have arrived so sweet but I have no extra money to be buying them as the rest of my money this month is going to oldest birthday - its constant I think I may need to but away some spare change for these type of things too, its endless.

Well I am going to catch up with other diaries

    Best wishes

  • Hello Friday,

A teacher training day today here so we have had a chilled day at home, done a few jobs, my friend and her DD visited and dropped oldest off at her friends for her first sleepover. She has stayed at our friends and family its her first with school friends.

A day in has resulted in a NSD well I did order some boots which my mum is buying me for Christmas so she will be giving me the money back so a spend which will be refunded.

Steady weekend ahead which is welcoming, really need a couple of quiet ones before the busy Christmas period.

WW tomorrow, oldest has a party on Sunday its a joint birthday party so need to pick up a couple of cards and the gifts which I paid for early in the week. Then we are going to the local Christmas lights switch on in the afternoon.

The more I look at my budget the more it needs more categories I am going to do a bit of research for ideas or things I have missed/not thought about.

    Have a fun Friday

    Best wishes

  • Hi NMC

Good to see you posting again :)

I think it's fair to say that budgets are a constant work in progress and all we can do is try our best, review and amend as needed. Life has a funny way of throwing our plans up in the air but it's better to be aware than to live in ignorance as many people do.

Well done on planning for next Christmas already & the low party bag spends are another win :T

Hope you have a lovely weekend, you deserve it :)
