Extortionate charges

I would try PALS anyway. With £500 at stake it's worth a punt even if they won't help.
Thanks, the same thought occurred to me, I will check tomorrow and see. If not then its pay up £350.00 or appeal with zero% chance of an appeal win other than a random act of stupidity at PE enforcement but likely to result in court costs as well.
I will still send a letter to my MP detailing the extortionate fees and possibly, hopefully, even that small effort will help stop Parking Lie in there tracks in the forthcoming bill.0 -

Have I missed something? Why don't PALS apply?
Ask them under Freedom of Information for their documented parking appeals process - they have to have one -The Trust (AKA the Public) are the landowners
HR would only possibly apply if you where a member of staff - but that is not the usual route for staff0 -

Almost sounds as if you might contact PALS to ask them if they are the people you need to complain to ..... but don't do that. If you were visiting the hospital as a patient they are the people you need to complain to, even if they'd prefer to minimise their workload. Also, the hospital board sometimes seems to be a better route.0 -

I already did that:
'All complaints relating to parking will be dealt with in the first instance by contacting ParkingEye via the number indicated on all car parking signage, who will seek to resolve the disagreement in conformance with the policy. '
and looking at past complaints the hospital is firm on that approach so I doubt the PALS approach will work.
Thanks again!

No, not taking that approach, thanks. Working and researching as much as possible to see if PALS is a worthwhile approach, but the hospitals policy seems to be where they direct former appellants so no point in using that.0 -
The Hospital simply cannot absolve themselves of all responsibility.lastmanstanding wrote: »I already did that:

Read again that quote from The NHS patient, visitor and staff car parking principles I gave you earlier.
Here it is again:
Disappointed that you dismissed PALS earlier with the abrupt comment:Contracted-out car parking
NHS organisations are responsible for the actions of private contractors who run car parks on their behalf.PALS or HR do not apply, but thanks for the advice.0 -
Okay, I see you're on the case. But just worth mentioning perhaps that 'angry letters' (or emails / phone calls) in any situation, not just parking, get such hugely different responses depending on how much conviction and confidence they convey. This belief has served me very well over the years! So please don't be deterred by how PALS has treated other victims of the parking scammers.
It really sounds as if PCNs are the last thing you need ....PALS need to realise that but of course you will also convey a little charm, much sincerity, firmness .... etc. etc.!0 -
PALS are talking crap - You still haven't mentioned which hospital, unless I need to go to Specsavers!!
Email your MP about the case, mention the lack of co-cooperation, ignoring DH Policy etc about car parking, copy in PALS & the Chief Exec for good measure
Trust me, that will get their attention0
