A better day. Although work interruptions nothing went off kilter too much.
Dgd dragged her feet but she went to school.
DS had to go to do the school run again, and was working tonight. So I haven't seen him since 8.20 this morning.
I stayed until 4.45 finishing my target sewing at £151 walked home between rain showers and Dgd was washing my car and had cleaned up the kitchen side etc. Paying off her debts for extra pocket money last week.
I had to nip out to collect a gas fire I bought on car boot sale site on Facebook. Then did a quick and easy pizza and garlic bread for our tea.
Then at about 7 I started on my trolley of sewing, as no DS or kids about. I finished at 11pm another £98 worth done. Only a few things I brought home that I didn't manage, but just too tired to carry on.
Washed up the last dishes, hung up the wet washing in the bathroom, put another wash on and have come up to bed.
Happy that I didn't have any disasters and feeling productive for once.
Hypnosis tape to switch off now.
Night all.
Hope all went well Pollyanna! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
So Dgd actually left for school early.
My plans are different today.
I am just moving washing on etc, and then when I am dressed and ready, I am going to work with the car, dropping off the jobs I did last night and picking up the overlocker that needs a new blade. Going to Mums to take some more embroidery and to do the jobs already there. Then we will take time for lunch and drive out to collect and drop off sewing machines. If I still need to do more embroidery then we will do that before I come home.
Dgd can let herself in and DS will be gone out camping for the weekend.
This evening I am cooking pork chops, and what ever bottom of the fridge produce I need to use up.
Then I have other jobs on my list but they may roll over onto the weekend as I will probably be too tired.
I am not expecting any more drama today!
I am planning a productive day ahead and jobs ticked off my list!
I got a response from the social about my complaint and they upheld all but one of the long list, and as that is one persons word against another, I am happy to let that one go, especially as the result is that the social worker is being changed.
Onwards and upwards. At least my findings will result in process of due diligence etc at the social and maybe others will benefit further down the line. Hopefully that SW will improve his practices for the future.
Time to dress or I will be late.
Hoping you had good results Polly! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Sounds like a productive, albeit busy, day ahead Mooloo! I hope you are able to get lots of jobs ticked off the list so that you can have a bit of down-time over the weekend. It's not difficult!

Spent 4 hours in A & E in the end.
Dgd had a fall at school and has possibly broken her wrist and hand. We say possibly because each doctor had a different opinion. It's being treated as a break and we have Fracture Clinic tomorrow.
Embroidery didn't happen as machine didn't like the fabric and caught it up , bending the needle and damage to the bobbin case. So that was taken to be fixed and other machines collected.
So glad I had done extra work the night before. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Working at home this afternoon after work. Put a sheet into the washing machine to dye it and the machine has now an error code H20. So a problem with the water intake.
I will have to wait until tomorrow to sort it as I doubt I'll be able to move it out of it s Housing on my own.
Just hope that I can fix it. Or I will be buying a new one! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo - try taking all the washing out of the machine, put it on a fast wash with no soap powder. H20 can sometimes mean that its a build up of powder stuck in the pipes. Mine does it all the time cos I throw two tablets in whatever the size of the load!It aint over til I've done singing....0

Supermezzo......I too used to 'overuse' tablets or powder. Sometimes I'd add a spoonful of vanish as well. My partner got ill and so it seemed to be a a week or two before I realised all the washing was drying hard. Very hard.
After reading up about it I realised the problem was the amount of powder I was using. I tried everything I could read to try and rectify it.It was only getting slightly better.
In the end, it took 2 empty washes with a full tub of bicarb each time. That was after at least 10 tries with a commercial product and home made stuff and boiling washes. The machine was only 2 years old and I now treat it like China, so grateful am I to have it back to normal.0 -
Dgd has broken her hand, the side of her pinky finger. Just back from the fracture clinic. She is going to have to have a scribe for her Sats this week!
I am going to do a menu plan and then a shopping list and nip to Aldi next.
Except DS and the boys back this afternoon.
I did about half of the work that I brought home yesterday, as my friend came round for a natter and then after I had done dinner I couldn't be bothered to sew anything else.
I need to put my machines etc all away before the family comes back.
I must chase the Workshop company for dates etc of delivery, so I can project manage the build.
Probably a million jobs need to be done. But the menu is the priority now I have finished at the hospital. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
