I hope you have a great holiday.
As someone who loves to go on holiday, I think they are great for taking you outside of your usual environment and putting yourself somewhere different, which helps to give a different perspective. Almost like you can relax and look in on your everyday life with different eyes.0 -

Thank you everyone.
I am excited this morning, a whole week without meetings and demands and no cooking! I doubt that I will be sun bathing in February even in Malta, but if I can sit in a sun trap on a balcony or a pavement cafe and face the sun it will boost me enormously.
I saw DS and his family briefly yesterday when I took my perishable food and Milk etc over. GF was all simpering niceness. Yuk. But at least it wasn't vitriol and nastiness. The kids were fine, but the house conditions were poor at best.
I popped in to see Biggest but she was out so I had a cup of tea and some home backed cookies etc with her husband who was looking after the little ones and baking the cakes and cookies. Then I went to see my Mum to give her a birthday card for today. She is 83 today. She had received some flowers via inter flora from my sister, and expecting a Skype call that afternoon.
I had a request for a £10 from Twin2 to get pain killers. I sent her £5 and told her to buy ibuprofen in the supermarket and it's about 50p for 16. I also said that I have not been able to pay myself since December, that I have thousands of pounds of debt and everytime she or her siblings have money it is taking it off of Dgd and I then can't buy her new shoes and clothes. I really laid it on thick. But I did still cave with the £5 I suppose. Still an improvement for me from just giving it. (And probably because I feel guilty for exaggerating my situation as I have had that change in my tax credits which means that my savings are back up to £1,000.07p. In time for the service of the car and the new brakes when I return which I won't have to add to the credit card.
So I am going to have bacon sandwich and head for the airport. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Happy Birthday Mooloo's Mum!
Mooloo, well done for digging in your heels about the £10. Yes, she could have got some ibuprofen for less, but at least you didn't give the whole amount requested. No need to feel guilty, nothing you said was untrue and the tax credit money is already earmarked for keeping your car on the road. It's not difficult!
